DayZ
KICKED - LATENCY TOO HIGH?
over the past 3 - 4 days i have been constantly kicked for having "latency too high" with literally every server i join. i join servers in my country (UK) with lower than 20 ping yet this is still happening after a minute or two of joining the server.

DayZ is the only game giving me this issue and stranger still is the fact that my housemate is able to join every server i have an issue with and he seems to have no problem at all.

i have a high end PC and my internet is great too so i cant figure out what the problem is.

ive verified all game files and reinstalled just to be sure.

Am i the only person having this issue at the moment?

How are you connected to your router? Wi-Fi or cable?

ok and if you both run a "ping www.google.co.uk -t" from a command prompt for say 30 mins do you get any irregular ping times such as over 100ms?

I am at work currently but will give this a go as soon as i get home

Every ping time was 12ms, some lines would peak at around 30.
I dont believe my connection is the issue as i have no problem with any other online games i try

I would believe the same if the issue wasn't persisting, i know the game has its issues with lag but it always cleared up for me if i tried a different server

all looks perfect to be fair!
Next thing I would take a look at is drivers for your Network adapter. Make sure they are up to date and all settings are default. Is your PC directly connected to the router or via a network switch? have you tested with another cable?
Finally I would open a cmd prompt in the back ground run:
ping www.bbc.co.uk -t
Then open dayz and connect to a server, when you get "kicked" is this replicated in the cmd prompt output?
Good Luck!

hey there! sorry for the long silence, was away for a few days.

ive just booted up dayz to see if the problem persists and it seems to have cleared up on its own?

i see an update was downloaded earlier today so i assume that may have somehow fixed the issue...

regardless - thanks for taking the time to talk me through all that buddy, i woudnt have even known where to begin.

Much appreciated! :)
