I dont believe my connection is the issue as i have no problem with any other online games i try

Next thing I would take a look at is drivers for your Network adapter. Make sure they are up to date and all settings are default. Is your PC directly connected to the router or via a network switch? have you tested with another cable?
Finally I would open a cmd prompt in the back ground run:
ping www.bbc.co.uk -t
Then open dayz and connect to a server, when you get "kicked" is this replicated in the cmd prompt output?

ive just booted up dayz to see if the problem persists and it seems to have cleared up on its own?
i see an update was downloaded earlier today so i assume that may have somehow fixed the issue...
