F.E.A.R. didn't have widescreen support upon release, it was added with patch 1.08 at a later date.
I actually found out about that workaround before I saw this reply, but still thanks for explaining it !
Cool your jets, it's a game from 2005. Be glad it runs at all.
Grab the Quake 4 tweaker. Just drop the files in the game's directory, run the tweaker executable and set it up however you like. Then you're good to go. Custom resolution, custom framerate, no low-res texture bug.

I legit burst out laughing because I totally agree. It shouldnt require a PHD in janking off windows 10 alongside retro, but it almost does.
Check out my channel on youtube: Yodas Raytraced Retro Studios
Im in the process of seeing if I can do better than some lame supersampling in nvidia inspector like I did in my last render.
The tweaker doesn't work anymore after the 1.4.3 patch update. Horrible support from the developer.
Is there a way to downgrade Quake 4 to a version that actually works w/ the Tweaker?
Have you actually tried it yourself? It's always worked fine for me, personally. I'm on win 11 nowadays and still no issues using it.
