if you're gonna download some softwares and are worried they might have malware, you could potentially try learning to use virtual machines.
Did the alert come up when you tried to download a mod, or just when you ran it?
If it was when you tried to download a mod, do you know which mod/version it was?
It is most likely just a false positive, but ransomware can be a real pain in the ass if you don't have backups.
