Help im trying to revert back to an older version of KSP!
I've tried right clicking it in the library then going to properties and then going to output betas and when I click it there is no older version of the game I can revert to.

An alternative is to use Steam console to download previous manifests (versions). Both of these guides will walk you through the process in slightly different ways but with the same result, an install of an old version.

I don't think you can. I backed mine up when the sale was announced. I haven't regretted not updating once.

I'm running 1.8.1 so I can use some older mods. Not sure why older versions aren't showing up tho.

Right click on KSP in your Steam library. Select properties. Select Betas tab. Select the older version you desire. Done.

Cut this crap out. Steam has this as well, and you aren't doing anything but trolling.

I explained how it works. My suggestion would be to reboot your PC, or Steam, or Both. Make sure your Steam is working properly. I posted the exact steps in case you might have been doing it wrong, and to make sure you know that it is supposed to work, unlike the impression you may have gotten from the previous posters.

You absolutely can revert to earlier versions. The fact that you aren't seeing the options means there's something going wrong with your installation, but the option is there for a non-broken installation.

I'm not sure why yours isn't working, but it's probably something to do with Steam itself. Have you entered a Beta password? You don't need one. Maybe something like that is messing up your list.

If none of the above works, I would suggest completely uninstalling KSP, rebooting. then reinstall KSP to see if your list returns. If not, maybe open a ticket with Steam if no one else here has any better ideas.

It ain't trolling if it is factual. Steam creates more problems than it solves as far as KSP is concerned. Not my problem if you are in denial.

But the difference is, I can do it whenever I want to, not only when steam happens to be working correctly. These problems with steam are like a long running soap opera in this forum.

Here's the thing, Steam isn't perfect. Far from it but everything I've seen you complain about with regard to it is completely down to your own lack of understanding of how it works and how to manipulate it to your own benefit.

I get it, you got frustrated because KSP updated and you had problems with mods however that was completely avoidable. For someone that thinks KSP and Steam are such a bad mix, it's kind of odd for you to spend as much time as you do posting here.

If you weren't aware, Squad not only have their own store but their own forum too.

Your remarks are about as accurate as steam is stable.

I never used steam for KSP because I had the foresight to read ahead, see so many problems other people were having and made my own purchase avoiding steam. And since I purchased it direct, yes, I do know of the KSP store and forum where I am an active member.

It's not my lack of understanding that causes this forum (and the main KSP forum) to get filled with endless issues directly related to how steam has screwed up someone's game.

Because I purchased direct from KSP I have had zero of the issues that I see here and elsewhere. I don't have to refresh file lists, I don't have to re-install, I run several different versions with multiple mods and I never see an issue and that is BECAUSE I DO UNDERSTAND that the major way to avoid problems is to NOT use steam for KSP.

KSP is not perfect and has its own issues, those become compounded by the additional steam related problems to the extent that we see many people walking away in frustration.

One of the reasons I spend time posting here (not as much as you seem to imagine) is to try to help others who might be considering a game purchase is to go direct to https://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/store/ and avoid all the hassles related with steam. Call it payback to the people that helped me avoid steam when I was about to purchase KSP.

I must have misread a previous comment of yours because I thought you had said you refunded your Steam version and bought from the store...or maybe that was someone else chiming in when you needlessly brought up this subject elsewhere.

Nearly all of us on Steam can do it whenever we want to as well. Let me ask a simple question, are you going to attempt to assist the OP with the question, or continue to troll?
