Found it Painfully Mediocre
I don't get the hype. I liked a lot of ARPGs before trying this one but this one just bored me to tears. Played it when it was free till the start of the second act. It was dull, and not bad but just really average to the point where it was hard to care. Walk slowly through areas and left click a bunch. Not many thrills, no or very few movement skills, bland quests.

So why is this game considered so good by many people? Maybe I'm missing something.

At start it may seem very basic, but later it kinda gets you going and engaged a lot more when there spreads more variety of bosses and gear, cool looking gear to be specific. Also there is a bit more stuff to do in ultimate.

You don't get the fireworks or the synergies until your character is much higher level. Not necessarily very high, but enough to have both classes, decent skill selections from them and access to gear that starts to build on skills.

As with most of the games in this and allied genres, the game isn't the levelling it's the end content.

Just think Diablo 2 - your sorc couldn't tele, have energy shield, or the variety of elemental spells you favoured - even if you could have gotten a Viperskin or SoJ at level 10 it wouldn't have made any meaningful difference with such a paucity of skill choices.

you need quests in an arpg ? you want an npc where you say : pick up 3 flowers and bring it to npc X ?

we love grinding , thats why ppl play arpg.. a lot of items to creat your own build... i think you go better playing shooter and let blend from graphic.

"It isn't fun till you've spent a truckload of hours in it" is the impression I'm getting. Aquired taste I guess but a sure nope for me. thx

I get that the real meat isn't the early game but that shouldn't mean it can't be fun. Rn, to me, it isn't.

I wouldn't imply hundreds and thousands of hours but a bit yes.

yeah, I don’t know, I never understand those comments. Why would I play a game for 100s of hours that I do not enjoy to hopefully eventually get to a part I might enjoy... I play a game for about as long as I enjoy it. If I don’t like, say, the first 5 hours, there is no way I will ever spend 10 in it

I could not care less about endgame (in any game), none of my chars even finished Ultimate (but some eventually will ;) ). I much rather try new builds, to each his own I guess.

Of course if you do not like the base game loop, then neither is really an option for you. It happens.

It's relaxing, its a single player game. And literally every build works. It isnt some rush around super meta max farm speed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It's chill af. It appeals to older people honestly.

That's how all games in this genre are. The start is always slow and boring and eventually as your build takes shape you zip around slaughtering stuff and farming cool sets. Diablo2, torchlight, grim dawn, titan quest, etc.

Don't play then. Game is ain't for you, its ok.
Although i don't get why you people feel the need to create a topic about that, thats is what review is for. What are you want, to explain why game is boring to people with well over a thousand hours?

I actually was instantly hooked on the game and very fondly remember my first playthrough. And i never liked other ARPGs, including titan quest. So my experience is kinda complete opposite of yours. It is what it is.

I think that's most arpgs tho. Early game is very boring to do. PoE, d2, d3, tl2, gd.

Poe you have to slog through a1-a10 and a few map tiers.

D2 you have to do bunch of cow farms, then baal runs.

D3 you just keep doing bounties or rifts.

Gd you basically rush through quests to get xp and maybe to bastion of chaos in normal/elite.
