Contents of Shared Stash are Gone!

It is suddenly empty. Has this happened to anyone else? My restores didn't bring it back. Help!?

Did you change from normal to cloud saves? Change back and it should reappear. You need to download cloud saves first (same network page in options), if you turned the saves on and you about to turn it off.

Other players have reported that this seems to be tied to multiplayer more than it is to cloud saves. Search the discussion for your issue and you'll see what's being reported and the workarounds.

My wife just lost all her transfer tabs (content and tabs themselves)
She has always used cloud saves, never changed it.
The GD forums seem to be down, where can I find these "work arounds" you mentioned?

No changes at all to how we play, all stash tabs empty !!!!! What is the fix?!?.

probably a steam / cloud issue yes. dont use the cloud to save this games data. You can get a copy of anothers players data and " import it :)

After 200 hours of collecting items, i would like my items back. Not someone elses.

Has effected myslelf and three people I play with. Personal stash still exists shared stash all gone, and tabs reset to not purchased.

Yep. Haven't reappeared with adjustments to save preferences. I'm pretty upset - some good stuff in there I worked hard to collect and store for myself and friends. I've turned off cloud saving. This proves it is unreliable and cannot be trusted. I also don't know how to go about getting in touch with anyone to restore cloud files that might contain said items. Sad.

It's most probably a bug with multiplayer, not cloud saving (no idea why this seems to be the popular assumption)

Since this issue appears to be repeatable for some people, it looks like there could be a chance of someone being able to help.

If you open your stash and your items are gone, DO NOT OPEN IT AGAIN. Immediately close the window and send us your transfer.gst and transfer.gst.bak files. You should then be able to restore your stash by deleting the transfer.gst file and renaming transfer.gst.bak to transfer.gst

The transfer stash file is only accessed when you open or close the stash window.

What's the first thing most people are going to do when they opened a bugged-looking window? Close it and open it again.

This bug couldn't have been more thorough.

Also, why just the transfer but the stash is fine? (At least that's how it was for me.)

Same happened to me, I know it is EA and all but I am seriously bummed. 100+ hours in and it's all gone.

This sucks so bad, kind of lost any desire to keep playing... Looks like it happened last night since my bak file is timestamped during a multiplayer session last night. It is also 1kb and all my stuff is still gone when I restore it.
