How to level Black legion reputation?

Hello i need to raise my reputation for Black legion now and wanted to do this with killing NPCs. The Info says i should kill NPCs from "The Outcast" Faction but i have no idea where to find them. Any idea what i could do?

There's a quest at Fort Ikon.
However, the Outcast can also be your (very useful) ally, and offer many quests with great rewards. If you do choose to kill her, however, talk to a captain at Fort Ikon after killing Commander Lucius and then go to the Fort prison to kill the Outcast.
If you don't kill the Outcast, you can still level the Black Legion's rep by doing their bounty (it can be accepted at Friendly and the table is at Fort Ikon).
The particularly easy bounty is Harroth, the Returned.

TBH its best to just do quests and then bounties. Since even if you kill and farm the outcast you get very little rep per kill. And you get next to nothing from killing her.

Pure hell. Grinding Black legion myself right now and for the first time i ragequit, lol.
Worst part of the game i have seen. Hate. Hate. Hate grinding rep with the bounties. Brings back all the old bad feeling from the MMO days.
Give us a mob group to grind, the bounties are pure hell.
I'm stuck with ione in the Conflagration now and i can't get to it. Can't drop the quest either (far as I can tell), so i'm stuck with no way to grind BL rep.
Sucks, hate it, haha.

Nope they dont reset, you keep gaining rep for the factions, altho ive heard if you choose a different side on the second play through it screws you =/

I just ground to Honoured from a fresh start.

Here's the fastest way:

Do not start the Outcast missions or kill her - you'll want her alive, but her quests have penalties to Black Legion rep attached to them.

Create aether shards/crystals @ the blacksmith (if you rescue Duncan, he has the recipe) and have about 15-20 cthonic insignias. These are worth 200 each.

Then only accept these missions and the Homestead Aether Tower (worth 400, easy to rush to).

Click through the missions only accepting these, then quit / restart each time you hit the 5 cap.

Goes remarkably fast.


The last quest in the game gives 1k faction, but I needed the rings for my summoner to beat the last boss.

Both blacksmiths have that recipe, and do you mean "cthonic seal of binding" ?

I chose to help the Outcast without knowing the differences in rewards, and wish I'd gone with the Black Legion instead, for their nice 1H weapon augments.

But, after playing more, I'm halfway to revered with the Outcast AND I just hit Honored with the Black Legion through quests. I figured it would be one or the other, but I've only just arrived at Homestead in Elite, and I've gained a lot of Black Legion rep doing quests up until that point.

I think I won't do the Outcast quests in Elite, and see if I can get through Ultimate, which will probably near-max Black Legion without ANY farming.

What Bounty are you referring to as the "Homestead Aether Tower" one?

I can't find that on the Homestead board (or online lists of Homestead/Black Legion) nor any that seem close and offer 400 Black Legion rep.

It was changed for final release, probably because of the exploit I pointed out ;) You can no longer exchange aether crystals or seals for bounties, they were removed.

The "homestead aether tower" = conflagration boss. It's a Black Legion bounty from the Fort Ikon table.

They may have patched that crafting trick, but there is another method that can get you quick points if you know it from the start of the game. Farm for Blood of Ch'thon and Tainted Brain Matter as you play through the game. Stash it away until you get to The Fort. Go through the bounties and only pick the ones that ask for the blood and brain matter until you use them up.

Just remember to keep some for any needed crafting recipes you might use, if not, and you don't have any quests that need them, blow them all for reps.

My path was to purposely avoid the Outcast activation quest until I had the +50% faction rep item activated. Then some of the Bounties provide +600 Black Legion rep. Once you grind rep with a single character you can purchase a slew of Mandates for +150% rep for all future characters. That speeds things along.

I've enough alts that I can take mandates on all factions, which I do from the outset.

Level 64 having defeated Korvaak on veteran (FG is the last chain of quests - done after Malmouth for me) with everything honoured except Outcast (800 short) and Barrowholm (1100 short).

I've not done Pine Barrens, a couple of Malmouth quests are outstanding, only resolved Larria at Barrow, couple of Coven quests to do too, oh and not done Fang with Outcast yet either - not even touched Kymon quests at all.

And I never do bounties. Never.

For some factions I'm going to complete revered simply by running around elite finishing off shrines to complete my devotion build.

Don't make rep a job, just play the campaign and take mandates as you can.
