Fire Strike vs Amarasta's Blade Burst
Does Fire Strike eventually dish out as much damage as Amarasta's Blade Burst?

I'm not a numbers calculating kind of player running software on the side while playing to see what is going on.
I just play and take notice how trash mobs and bosses are taken down.
It seems Amarasta's Blade Burst tends to dish out better damage than Fire Strike.
6 points in Amarasta's Blade Burst alone seems to do better than....
6 points in Fire Strike, 4 points in Explosive Strike, 3 points in Searing Strike, and 1 point in Static Strike all combined.

What do you helpful guru's suggest? 😊

EDIT: I know what the written word says on each of the skills, but it sure doesn't feel that way, hence why I ask.

Default attack replacers tend to want to be combined with passive weapon procs. If you don't combine them, ABB should be more effective.

ABB (and lethal assault) is one of the better NB leveling kills. Doing great damage immediately. Doing something like a firestrike with DW weapon procs will eventually become good, but you need a lot of skill points before that build comes on line. You can't really compare them with only some points into firestrike and nothing else.

If you are using guns, the same idea is still true. Though you are more reliant on specific guns and other items which give additional procs.

Thank you Matthew.

I just thought of something.
Is ABB also better at Duel Wielding because it works for Off-Hand as well?
Fire Strike doesn't show anything for the Off-Hand.

EDIT: Okay, I figured out how to make the Fire Strike tree more in line with ABB.
Put 1 point into Fire Strike, then build Explosive Strike like you would ABB.

You got it backwards. Fire Strike works for both main hand and off hand, while Amarasta's Blade Burst only works on either your main hand (if using a single weapon, 1-hand or 2-hand), or only your off hand if you're dual wielding.

I never noticed this. You are absolutely right. When dual wielding, ABB goes by the off-hand. So I switched my weapons and it's a lot better. Of course any %damage bonus from the main hand still applies. :steamhappy::FlashFreeze:

As for Fire Strike, it's not strong by itself. Like Matthew said, it needs a lot of points in it's modifiers or wps from other masteries.

Also worth mention that you could (and actually want) support fire strike with amarasta blade burst, because lethal assault (LA) hugely boost all damage you deal while bonuses of LA is active

How does one support FS with ABB?
Would it be with LMB/RMB?

ABB has cooldown, FS does not. You cast ABB on cd and spam FS in-between.
If you spam attack with the ABB button, ABB will proc approximately every 6 to 10 hits with reasonable attack speeds (I'm not sure what max attack speed is). So you need to be doing something else for the other 5 to 9 hits. Otherwise you get basic weapon damage and lose a lot of DPS. Either use WPS skills or use another skill like FS. Use whatever buttons you are comfortable with.

Thank you tutzdes and madrigal

I can write.
This Saboteur that I'm playing in HC is going to need a lot of figuring out.
Trash mobs (light, medium, and a bit tougher) go down fast.
But bosses do not go down so fast, like with other class combos.
I'm thinking it is due to all of the skill build up one has to do with it.
I'm currently only 36th level, so I've got a long ways to go.

Thank you again everyone for the advice and help. 😊
