Plus lots of stuff I'm no doubt forgetting. And Pyromancer is Demolition + Occultist, not a class by itself.
But, about broadness - I didnt build my own playstyle yet, to voice some thing, that must prevail. At the moment of time, I prefer to avoid huge damage income with my legs (by simply running away, once boss is about to cast something heavy on me). But there is a drawback - if amount of enemies is more than I expect (say - boss summon somebody), then its often impossible to outrun them.
Speaking offence - from what I've seen so far, DoT matters. Coz some tough enemies can easily outheal otherwise. But, when it comes to normal mobs, "hit and forget" isnt for me either - due to my own nature, I want to be sure that every and each enemy on floor is dead. Thus, I cant mindlessly run around with hopes that DoTs will do all work.
Overall, your post pretty much got the point of this thread - as somebody, who didnt set their priorities yet, I wanted to hear about the most popular synergies and their pros and cons
the cons of build most likely your def and hp, and Mogdrogen patch will fix your sp recovery for spaming skill. Note: Phantasmal Blades are spam able skill, it not deadly unless you add Constellation power in it.
Sorry mate but you're dead wrong about this. I'm not really sure about the state of pre-expansion anymore but PB itself has received buffs since the expansion came out and it has been very strong for a long time.
Are you perhaps looking at the DPS stat? That's for one blade.
I completely forgot Trickster but I don't really like that combination pre-expansion so I'll leave that to other people.
sorry i forgot to mention what i mean "it not deadly" & spam able is only take PB lv1+ Frentic Throw only, plain without any proc attack.
but yeah if you invest more to nightblade it is deadly. since the atk have % of weapon damage. since my build more to setting a trap so maybe what i said earlier is kinda vague.
DW pierce BM had the added advantage of having a very strong monster infrequent weapon tailored for that build that is fairly easy to farm (dermapteran slicers from the insectoids on the fields/in the tunnels west of homestead).
Currently running a Hagarrad build, with lethal assault - she detroys bosses so fast it's ludicrous (almost as fast as a good poisoner) and can face tank the majority of content.
and +1 for Spicey BBQ sauce too ;)
Edit: Oh and she runs so fast too with pnuematic and renewal.
Edit 2: Oops NON-DLC! Scrap this post sorry >.<
Hmm, I guess it's not big enough. Let me fix that.
Much better!
All the Nightblade class combinations are strong (with Trickster lagging behind imo) but if I were to choose one, I'd go with Witch Hunter just because there's few monsters in vanilla that can withstand Night's Chill, Curse of Frailty, and Acid Spray resistance shredding combo. I run mine with Nightshade's Reach, using AAB as my left-click. Fun and powerful.
soldier is obv if you want to play dual wielder or sword and board...
shaman is really good at 2 handed or you can go totem user...or just have shaman support nightblade...
occulist can lend nightblade curse of fraility one of the best debuffs and blood and can be played as a poison or vit dps toon...
demo can support a nightblade adding more phys and blast shield or you can use nightblade to support a gunner build...or play as a caster...lotsa versitility in this combo
acanist with its on demand invincbility and protection moves can be used to backup nightblade or nightblade can add some backup to a mage...very versitile since mirror is basically invincilbily and it has a move to remove buffs off enemies or debuffs off you (usally to remove reflect off enemies)
you dont have to play dual wielder as nightblade esp seeing how you dont have enough skillpoints to max everything or even a few skills so you need to speicalize...
I see
Occulist wil be somthign with black magic infested swords;
Soldier is main one... basiclaly blade tanker soemsort;
> Trickster would be with Shaman class, most known I think would suit Kobras set: add savagery and it's pretty cool in general.
- Just realised you don't have DLC, well Kobra will be locked up... Arcanist is decent, pretty greenish... I think you should just open grimtools.com and start from there, try something from yourself.
