Help! Wasted my skeleton key for the aetherial farm quest

So, my bf and I (both lvl 38) opened the gate on our way to destroy the amalgamation, but we both went back for a sec to open some chest and it closed again....

I have the blueprint for the key(which i have no idea why was only in my inventory), ectoplasm and corpse dust but no blood of ch'thon. Is there a not-so-grindy way to craft/obtain the key again?

Only 2 "non-grindy" ways:

1) you trade with somebody in multiplayer
2) you use GD Stash to "cheat" the items in

it is also possible to..
3) visit Horrus the Cursed Smith in Gates of Necropolis in Act 4 and if you have any Ancient Hearts he will convert it into a Blood of Chthon for you.

Legitimately, not really. Grind is a part of what defines this genre, so be ready for that. You can indeed trade rare mats at horus, but you will need other rare mats for it anyway.

Typically the quest givers to the dungeons give a key - it being generic you can use it where you choose. I would have thought you both got one each on handing in the quest tho.

When you open the door it even warns you that it will only stay open a short time. So yeah, if you decide to use a key then move inside pretty quickly. And remember if you die in there you get punted out and the door will be locked again.

It's really not that much of a grind to get a key. Crafting high level gear, relics and components takes grinding a lot more materials than just one blood.

turns out we had bamboozled ourselves and that wasnt even the right way!! we just continued with the story and accidentally ended up with enough materials to craft about 5 more keys lol
