Won't start at launch (Fixed)
After all the posts here I checked I still can't get my game to work.
I played 35 hours of the game without any problems. in the 3rd or so mission in the expansion I picked up and item and my game crashed. Since then I have a black screen + not responding on launch.

I have tried:
- repair.exe ( with every combination of boxes ticked)
- deleting options.exe
- adding the "/d3d9" launch setting (which made it worse, got to couldn't initialize graphics engine)
- reinstalling the game twice
- Updating everything in _CommonRedist

I'm running a laptop with these specs:
GeForce GTX950m
i7-6700HQ
on Windows 10

A guy called silasfelinus had the issue that his game blackscreened on launch and would then not work. Zantai and powbam weighed in with help, but from your post it appears you tried most of these solutions. His fix is pasted below:

Solved! Thanks for everyone who chimed in. I got to the solution through troubleshooting another game (Spelunky) and followed the advice of someone on the forum to disable Sharing in Geforce Experience (an option I do not use and was not aware was enabled by default). And lo and behold, the game launches! Hurray!

Hope that helps.

You just shout at da game and call it many sorts of vulgar names until it starts to launch. That's how I get most of my stuff working. :D

Alright, in seriosuness try to compeltly unsitall game, re-intsall directX or jsut check Windows Updates, close all other programms or apps, check if anti-virus or firewall doesn't block the game... what else, ehm try step 1 maybe helps.

I had read this one, I didn't have "GeForce Experience", downloaded it, an for some reason after disabling it in a program I didn't have before it works. Thanks for reiterating it to me. I can play it again without losing my main :)

FlamingX21 thanks too for the effort. seems like a good community to have stepped into!

After numerous tries, what worked for me was installing x86 version of Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

Hope it helps
