What's a good secondary for a Primal Strike Shaman? (deja vu)
I can't seem to find anything better than Warder, but I already have like 3 Warders.

Elementalist would add Flashbang, Vindictive Flame and Flame Touched - would would be exactly 1% more speed than Solider plus the damage on Flame Touched, with Flashbang filling the same role as Blitz. And Blast Shield would replace Menhir's Will (and I'd get up to 12 points in Thermite Mine)

But I really liked Blitz for its mobility.

So how about Trickster? Shadow Strike gives the mobility, but there's zero other synergy here. Pneumatic Burst is 12% speed, a little lower than Vindictive Flame or Squad Tactics - but it is a heal, adds some tankiness, and increases elemental damage which applies to lightning. Veil of Shadow without Night's Chill could combo with that as well.

Conjurer adds nothing... unless resistances can go significantly below zero, as any points I could dump into Curse of Frailty could just go moreso into Wind Devil. It's just not conducive to a Primal Strike build - Conjurer wants to be a pet bro

Druid doesn't seem like a solid fit, it would favour elemental savagery more... although I'd be legit interested in a comparison of Stormcaller's Pact Vs. Star Pact (assuming you have enough kit-based lightning conversion)...

Vindicator is interesting - it'd directly be Aura of Censure Vs. Stormcaller's Pact. IE: is 33% chance of 350% lightning damage better or worse than -33% elemental resist when you're already popping a ton of elemental resist reduction (via wind devil and arcane mines). Deadly aim is a good attack modifier, which more than makes up for the lack of 12~15% speed increase from other Masteries (word of renewal only adds movespeed, plus a token elemental bonus). Plus, I don't know if Inquisitor Seal -> Arcane Empowerment is a characer buff to crit+damage or if it's just a modifier of the Rebuke ability. Stormbox fills the role of Flashbang while also providing correct damage type.

Ritualist is a weird one. With Harbinger of Souls slightly lowering damage (but increasing it again with speed) and Reaping Strike with Primal Strike not having Thunderous Strikes (so that normal attacks happen occasionally).... Low level Savagery can be taken to get weapon amp for bigger Primal Strikes while capitalizing on life drain. It would look something like this:

But that suffers from the lack of lightning conversion.

Out of all of them Vindicator probably would be the best attempt, as I could just build it the same as my Warder and just compare them directly. However Elementalist is interesting due to the higher speed gains, Ulzuins Flame, Blast Shield and the great Flashbang DAR

There is a final option, which is an unpleasant thott - Pure Shaman. Going pure shaman would greatly lower the core stats, I'd miss out on a good 100-ish of each stat and 400~800 ish HP (depending on mastery), but doing it would gain maxed out wind devil and storm totem and savagery can be taken with un-altered Primal Strike for greater mods, plus Feral Strike and Upheaval. - - - is 4 full skills worth the lack of stats?

Here is a possible Devotion path

I went with Spear of the Heavens over Hand of Ultos due to the lack of active skills other than Primal strike... but since I'm only ONE point short of Hand of Ultos it feels bad that I can't have both

EDIT: Actually I could get both if I switch from Tsunami to Eel, and with my last point I can still get the first point of Tsunami

Ranged or melee?

If ranged and doing a primal strike build there is literally no reason not to use inquisitor, if melee Id go warder just for the survival skills and tankiness as going full face tank 2 hander without soldier skills is always a bit worrying

Oh, I was assuming melee since the key to primal strike is the Ultos set weapon that increases its usability

edit: but i haven't tried out the RakaJax so maybe that could be a thing?

Resists have no minimum. With the skill points available from the expansion, Conjurer offers 15% attack speed, -30% RR, -75 enemy DA, +138 OA, 100% poison res, 12% physical res. Curse of Frailty is not bad at proccing, too, so you've got space for Ultos.

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/lV7MMjbN is something I have a bookmark for. Based on Superfluff's recent-ish build I think.

Edit: Ranged Primal Strike is all about getting a nice Ugdenbog Sparkthrower or so I hear. Raka'Jax is neat but the lack of attack speed is a fatal flaw.

A fairly common build is to use a vindicator and go ranged theres quite a few very good 2 hand ranged weapons including some very easy to farm green MIs, you have the near full ultos set and get the meat of the bonuses and then fill in rest of the gear as needed.

It does frankly obscene damage without much effort, the lightning rifles that Kymons guys drop arent to shabby either. Melee I think can do more damage as the base weapon damage is higher but its obviously got higher risks.

As ranged I wouldn't covet Blitze/Shadow Strike for mobility... which is a thing.

Plus I could just play my Warder for melee, but then I'd have to actually farm a second Ultos set for this guy

ooooooo, I just looked at my Warder... he's built really weird. almost no lightning bonus damage, it's all stacking max hp and percentile hp regenerations. He's fully geared.... at only 59k DPS (which is like 1/3 of what I see on damage builds online)... but I do have like 25k HP (unbuffed), why did I build this way? It makes no sense!

EDIT: I should almost just build a 4th Warder, based on this guy

Yeah thats pretty optimal, youll want that DA as high as that though it can be rough as a 2 hander melee, if you have access to all that gear then its certainly a thing.

i just got a good idea; I'll build pure Shaman in anticipation of the Expansion, and whatever the new class is - take it outright without looking
KG Sep 26, 2018 @ 6:55pm
:/ My experience with Conjurer is that a well-geared PS spammer can survive by just killing the hell out of things. The quality of life from having reliable AoE resist reduction (CoF) is not to be underrated when Lightning gets more or less screwed with all the other RR sources.

If you want a Savagery Warder you should take a close look at the Avenger set (+Bloodrager hat) and consider skipping the lightning thing. Makes regen fun again.

Edit: since you're waiting for expansion - movement skills for everyone. Yay! The new class isn't Lightning-y though.

As an aside - ehhhhhhh, I can't figure out how to zoom out the mini-map. only my characters made before 1.0.6.0 have a zoomed out mini-map

To the right of the energy bar there is a little yellow triangular button. I think that is what you are looking for

I wonder if it's possible via quest shenanigans to become hostile with Black Legion
