Removing points from Crossroads

I was messing about with Grimcalc and noticed you could remove points from Crossroads after you already put points into that side of the Devotion map. Is this a glitch, bug or exploit? Or, just smart strategy?

Working as intended. If you have excess points from other constellations you can safely remove starting point from crossroads. If you don't have spare points, the game won't let you.

Constellations can be used to help fulfill their own requirements.

Yes some constellations are self sustaining, it really opens up a variety of different strategies for allocating extra points!
