So cheating is allowed and easy in multiplayer...
What's up with this? You can use one of many editors out there to edit your character, and they can edit regardless if it's a cloud character or not...
I tried adding 150 extra skill points, bunch of blueprints and 5.000.000 to my cloud character and it worked, and I was able to join a multiplayer game with no problems.
I don't feel like cheating in an online game, so I fortunately have saved a backup of my savegame, but it feels like cheating in multiplayer is encouraged.

Wait, are you the one who made a whole post about a boss apparently cheating? Is that why you added stats to your character so you could beat this boss?

No I added iron to my character because I was changing skills too often that I ended with 15.000 iron per skill respec.
If you read my other thread closely you would see that I managed to kill the boss by bugging him.

This game was intended to be modable from the begining because that is what the player base wants. You can't really have a game that is moddable, that you can't cheat on as well, afaik. Crate does not have closed servers and wont, at least in GD, so they can't prevent cheaters from hosting / joining game.

Just don't cheat if you dont like it.

GD doesnt have closed servers or something like battle.net which diablo 2 had. So yeah people can cheat. GD is singleplayer with multiplayer being an after thought. Besides we dont have some ladder or competition so if someone wants to cheat either dont play we them or accept the fact that they can.

how in the hell is it 'encouraged'? you chose to cheat... and did. a simple search on Google would tell you that there isn't closed servers for this game, its peer to peer - there is a 'no cheat' group if you want to look for players who don't use mods.

encouraged how? Just cause someone else is doing it, doesn't mean you have to copy.
Monkey see, monkey do.

I've yet to cheat. Really easy to avoid.

and thats why i dont play multiplayer
and yes i used saved game copy to duplicate stuff mostly for dual wielders and get a kilrian component on a vit char
because grinding for it is boring as hell
it took me 7 kilrian runs to get first piece of the component, so i duplicated it to get a full one
but because i did "cheat" i dont play multiplayer nor will i post endgame youtube videos to show how badass i am, like every other youtube video how badass they are
its a single player game, cheating is easy, and you go as far as you want with it, but dont take every single youtube vid for granted as truly legit, and the best build ever because they are not, not unless you copypaste save games, insert items with gdstash, modify attributes with gd trainer etc
play multiplayer at your own risk, best to start it knowing already you gonna meet nothing but cheated characters, or stay away from it entirely

Guess I'll just stay away from multiplayer then since cheating is so easy and encouraged.
Stormy Jan 11, 2017 @ 1:58pm
Easy? yes. Encourage? no. It's like you're trying to pick a fight with people, it's so hard these days to know if someone is being serious or not.

Not expressly disallowing something is not the same as encouraging it.

Cheating is not encouraged, it is just very easy because there is no closed servers.

Dont really see the point to play with some random people where the best interaction you will ever get is 'Hi' anyway...

I don't know about that.
I joined one multiplayer game with 3 other players and we went on killing mobs for about half an hour. The host had to go but was nice enough to stay a bit longer and craft me a relic that I was missing.
So my only interaction with players online was positive. But now i'm not going back considering how cheating is easy, even though those guys weren't cheaters. It's just not fun knowing that there are some characters that are potentional cheaters, including myself, althogh I reverted to my old non cheat character, just added some iron to be able to respec to another build, but even so I feel it would be unfair to go online with that character.
