Cue duelise jokes in the NiGHTS R34. Not enough of her I'd say. Not enough good ones anyway.
This took a weird turn.
That's what happens when you notice Freuidan references in games.
Care to explain it then? Last I checked, this is actually a very good port of NiGHTS compared to SA1 and 2 on PC. And even then SA1 can at least be fixed with both the Retranslated mod and Dreamcast Conversion, so it plays a bit more like the 1998 original. SA2 only has the latter mod so you get the better dialog but you still are forced to play the worse version of the game.
Arguably Shenmue 1+2 is a bad port as well though in its case that's mostly due to lost source code I think. Like SA1 it also has mods to fix some of its issues, including restoring Dreamcast features like the product placement in the Japanese original.
I don't think anyone sees the paradox you mean regarding NiGHTS apparently being based on a bad port so if you could tell us, it might make things clearer.
The port is bad in that you haven't launched it in the past 2 years on windows 10 and had the launcher universally crash and not work for anyone. That or pads
Odd. I've played it just recently before reading this and not had any problems. I've been using an Xbox Duke Controller though as it works better for NiGHTS and Sonic games (not counting the PC versions of Sonic R or Flickies Island) than it does for Tomb Raider, Half Life or Prey.
When did the launcher have the crashing issues? I likely had NiGHTS uninstalled at the time as I was playing other games and needed the disk space.
