Adventure Mode broken ("things" not generating)

I'm on the first level of Adventure Mode (The Game is Afoot version). I've found the ring, box, and crank, but no metal potato. I've searched the entire map (I have a screenshot), and checked the Divining Rod everywhere.

From the wiki it seems like this is a known bug? The only solution I've heard of is to use a console command, but I don't know what that command is. If I could just get the console command from someone that would help. Also want to boost this to the devs, I work in games so I'm pretty understanding about bugs, but this seems kinda serious since it completely blocks progress unless commands are used.
