Where to find living logs?

I am trying to make a shadow manipulator but i can't find the livng logs any help?

Nah, just keep chopping down trees until he appears from nearby, he has about a 1.5 or 3% chance to spawn every time you chop down a tree, and spawns from/as another tree.

yeah but i need a blue gem and spear to get the freeze spear so its harder to kill him

You can kite but it takes a while. I find it easier to lure him into agressive mobs such as dogs, mating beefallo's or let pigs help you. Setting him on fire helps, with either the torch or let him walk over a campfire, since he walks to you in a direct path.

just hit him 3 times, dodge and let him swing his arm, and do it repeatedly.
Its simple, boring but safe.

chop trees until a tree guardian appears as one of the trees then just shoot with an ice staff for an easier kill or just do what track fight typed but it is more harder his way

i have been chopping trees for 5 hours straight with no success in attracting him :(

that only happens with me 1% of the time

If your game has normal settings he should spawn when chopping and i don't recomend fire if you want the living logs(burn him to death and all you'll get is cooked monster meat and some ashes), feeding pigs some meat and they will help you chop, this should increase the chances and they will fight any treeguards that appear.
