how to get pig skin easily

desperate to get a football helmet or a pig house, this may help you.

if you really dont want to create a new world just to get pig skin, then its not as easy.

ok the first option is to find a touch stone (little reminder, for this option MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A HAMMER), the easiest way to find these is to increase the chance of finding one in the customize world option while creating a new world, now about the sentence above this paragraph, like i said its not as easy, i believe if you just have a regular default world with no special changes, then i think that theres is atleast 2 to 3 touch stones in a completely default world, now they do not generate close to your spawn so you may have to go adventuring. once you find one use your hammer to destroy the posts with pig heads on them there should be four of them, and each drops 2 pig skin! over all if your too lazy to add two four times then i'll do it for you, in total if you smashed all four you should have recieved 8 pig skin and 8 sticks (because of the wooden posts) so the sticks are a bit of a help to. so you could make 7 pig houses and a football helmet if you wanted, use it however you want to.

now for the brutal, stupid, and more dangerous way. (not reccomended but effective) if you dont want pigs in your world for what ever not any where smart reason or for a challenge, then gather a bunch of pigs and make them chase you (specificly attack one) to get every pig's attention easily without feeding them and wasting a good companion (even though you'd be wasting the opportunity) by using this method. now for another stupid and the second dangerous part (next to the pigs turning hostile on you) lead them to a fire, during a hound attack, a deerclops (highly not reccomended), or a spiders nest, all these options can effect you to especialy the deerclops and spiders nest. this option is most likely more suitable or better decided by the adventerous type, and also a little more easy find requirements for.

the other option is to make traps, but they're not always the easiest thing to make, since there arent alot to choose from, and most of the materials aren't really the easiest thing to FIND either if your not one of those super experienced players that have tons of hound teeth (credit goes to JoshnPosh for the idea)

honestly i dont think the second option is worth the effort if you JUST wanted the pig skin or drops from the spiders deerclops and hounds, plus if you take too many pigs then there might be some left and they'll still be chasing you, and thats another problem thats annoying to deal with. i can gaurantee you this the option for the more adventerous type. Finding a touch stone may be difficult, but far more safer, and worth the "small amount of actual effort" and those arent sarcasm quotes

this may be a long tutorial to read for you, but i always like to give the best amount of information

or you can always put down traps i suggest the tusks going to them and asking them for some teeth and some sugar

yeah but theres not alot of traps to choose from and they're not always the easiest thing to make, but that is another option. i think i'll add that to the thread and give you credit for the idea

but a good way to get Hounds teeth is to farm it from the walrus camp i have around 96 of them and just bring around 2 pigs with you they constantly re spawn (i realy wanted that Tam o' Shanter (:<

yes well walruses only appear in winter, and winter is pretty dangerous, by the way arent walruses hostile?

yes but he can get stun locked easy and he wont attack you at first unless you go to close if you get close to him with pigs he will hunt the pigs and he is not that fast so you are good also for winter just bring a log suit a hat and a heat rock and some supplies for a fire
also what is so good of that is that you can get a tam o' shanter out of it and a tusk
after that just sit near the Camp and wait

Or just make one and lead the same pig over it :)

Sorry I didnt read all that txt OP.

Simple version.

Find a pig house. Kill the pig. Hope it drops a pig skin. Wait 4 days. Kill pig again....etc....

Im sure OP explained how to kill pigs so use his way for that.

thats a good way to, i wasnt thinking of easy ways at the time, i didnt really think it was that simple, but i always had the best luck with obtaining pig skins by finding a touch stone

another idea is to knock down a house or lead them to a tentecal because if they die you get some skin if the tentecal dies you get a new wepon
(i would'nt lead them to spiders since they will eat the pig skin itself but leading them to the spiders can weaken them :) )

It also helps to hire two pigs at once with meat to make it easier. You feed the first pig the monster meats to turn him into a werepig. You command the second pig to attack the werepig by starting to attack the werepig yourself. When the werepig attacks your other pig, that will cause all other normal pigs in the area to attack the werepig. After the werepig dies, hire another pig and repeat.

You'll want to pick up the meat as quickly as possible or the other pigs might cannibalize it. A pig skin for every pig and a bunch of meat; It's like turning monster meat into regular meat, Very profitable.

Spiders are a bad option for harvesting pigs. They tend to eat all the loot very quickly including skins.
