It was a gift to RipTidePow. In a way, it's an easter egg.

So really its only usefull as bait or something?
I saw the stream in which it was announced.

When I saw it there it was called "Powcakes" not powder, took 2 corn and 2 honey to make, and it DID restore some hunger as well as do damage.

The point was that it was an emergency food for when you were really starving. Your character would refuse to eat it unless he was really hungry.

They changed it obviously, but I have no idea why. Some are saying it might be a placeholder for what I dont know.

Powder cakes are good for bait foods to lure creatures like spiders, gobblers, pigs, werepigs, etc. to an area. You can wall an area off around a powdercake and it will keep them there for a long time. After all, it only takes around eighteen thousand days for one to rot.

Good bait. I've seen people use it with elephant cactus and burnt trees as barrier to protect the elephant cactus. Bunnymen go for the powdercake and get wrecked by the elephant cactus. Probably can do the same for pigs and monkeys even though there is the silly monkey ball.
bait.

It literally has no point. You can use it as bait, but rot is cheaper. It's probably just so corn has a crock pot recipe, as do all of the farm foods.

I wonder, since mobs take damage from eating things like monster meat, would a stack of powder cakes do damage equal to the -3 multiplied by the number of cakes? If so, you could weaken or kill certain creatures with them. That would take a lot of cakes though.

Red mushroom caps take more health away than cakes, and as you can imagine, are much easier to get a hold of.
