Don't Starve

Don't Starve

Does carrots respawn?
In adventure mode I always seem to enter a world with no berry bushes or beefalos.
It drives me crazy not to know if carrots do respawn or not..
I have read every single thing there is to read about carrots on
http://dont-starve-game.wikia.com/wiki/Carrot, but I can't seem to find anything about the respawning part..
Under the picture of the carrot, the text tells you how much health, ect., the carrots can offer you, but at the very end the text says: DebugSpawn "carrot" "carrot_cooked"..
Does the "DebugSpawn" mean that carrots do respawn?
I'm not american or english, so I feel a bit lost here..
Can somebody help me please?

i always thought mushrooms respawn
they may respawn if you pick them but I've never had one respawn after digging one up.

of course they wont if you dig em up m9
eh you could logically argue that other mushrooms would appear in the area. Since they reproduce by spores.
But Don't Starve isn't 100% accurate with a lot of things. Honey can't rot for example, but if honey doesn't rot you have infinite resources.

I think you should have a choice between cooking and harvesting spores. Spores would then act like pine cones and allow you to place mushrooms where you wanted. 90% of fungi spores never actually create anything so they could factor that in to make it more challenging. That way you can't surround yourself with mushrooms and just eat ratatatatatatatatatata's touille all winter.

if there was similiar code to steal id def make this as a mod

Yeah i know a lot more about fungi habitats than I do about mods.

now that i think about it, maybe i could make digging up mushrooms spawn spores but having a 90% of not growing is 2hard

maybe you dig them up just to remove them somewhere?
Well it doesn't have to be 90% it's don't starve.

Honey honest to god will never rot in real life. It has nothing in it that can decompose. They found honey in ancient egypt in a pot and the only change was that the water had evaporated out of it leaving it hard. If you reconstitute it you could use it in your tea.

But if honey doesn't rot in don't starve then people would only go after honey so they had to make it decompose.

well, I 8eg to differ. Its not exactly the most filling food, and its a rather painful process to o8tain without certain 8eegear.

one time i managed to make day stuck forever and have no item bar by making a recipe mod

couldn't you copy over a saplings script and reskin it/ make it grow mushrooms?

exactly, im thinking of making an item that spawns when you dig up shrooms and make it plantable into a harvested shroom item

You can't make it appear everytime like a pine cone though. You break the game if you have access to infinite mushrooms.

Technically carrots do respawn. Use farm plots.

Not if you made it so it had to 8e fertilized...
Which would make sense for a spore, as don't they decompose things (or something)?
8esides, not all mods are 8alanced anyways, so...

I guess I still worry that you can just put a giant fairy ring around yourself and with a crockpot you'll never have to worry about hunger, health or sanity ever again.

They don't respawn in the wild. That's growing a new carrot.
