How to Get Chester?

you gotta find the eyebone. it's lying around randomly someplace. as long as you have the eyebone he'll follow you. If you want him to stay put just put the eyebone inside of him. This prevents you from losing the eyebone.

You have to find the eye bone in your world. There is only one on every single world and it can spawn anywhere on the surface.

._. That's going to be hard to find. is there anything I need to know about him. I know that he moves and he stores stuff. xD

Not that hard to find. Spend the first five days doing nothing but exploring. Don't even build camps at night time, explore by torch light instead (have a couple of torches ready come nightfall). Chester will turn up once you have found the eye bone.

Luck is also a key. In all of my playthroughs, I've came across an eyebone once. I found it in the second day of that world.

You can change him into a walking freezer by placing a blue gem in every slot in him on the night of a full moon and he will slow food spoilage in him and cool a heat stone (This takes a lot of blue gems and they are hard to come by so I would not recommend doing this). He can change into shadow chester by doing the same with nightmare full in every slot and he will gain 3 extra inventory slots for a total of 12 (Nightmare full is easy to find but hard to get because it would require battling tough monsters and things like that.

One thing about chester, He is slower than you and you might not always want to bring him with you where ever you go. If you're trying to outrun enemies they will target him as well and if he dies I don't think he respawns.

If Chester dies, he respawns after one day.

i've managed to get him killed a few times. the eye on the eyebone closes for a couple of days (2-3 i think) then it opens again and chester respawn.
