Or just make yourself some bedrolls or a tent. The sanity aspect of this game has to be my favourite aspect, its fascinating how much it affects your play, when the noises start in your headphones rattling from one side to the other and the actually very realistic nature of the initial shadows in the corner of your eye.
I can say from experience, the first part of the sanity loss at least is pretty close to reality although ive never been attacked by a terrorbeak IRL thankfully!!!
I know sleeping isn't an food witch was what you asked for, but isn't sleeping enough if you need a lot of sanity fast?
i have over 900 hours i think and i do like the chalenge,,, i even make less items in the world to have a hard start as resourches are few,i also know all sanity boost items,,,, but i love to cook
and wish there was that little 1 more item that a meat based char could make, not a big deal in my gameplay as i hunt for only 1 meat and its honeyham+jerky's , and sleeping,i find it a waste of time and takin the easy way out of trouble,,but thats all :))
It is a shame when you cant make the cookies and toffee etc but there are so many ways to regain sanity - shame its not so easy in real life lol, they never seem to get fat from eating all that toffee!!!
Wow 900 hours, ive only had the game since april i think, i thought i was doing well at 350 lol. Ive bought some new games now though, shelter is looking pretty interesting i may well take a sabbatical from DS and go on that for a while!
there's clothing, flower picking, sleeping, and you can also give a piece of meat to some pigs and stand around them for a while. 4 - 5 pigs should give quite a lot of sanity recovery if you're able to get them all bunched up with you (keep them with you during night and start a fire).
