cooking meat over a fire vs jerky; jerky is much better.
jerky vs meat recipes from a crock pot; jerky is better than some recipes.
jerky overall is a pretty good food source since it last a pretty good amount of time and it's a good way to salvage that last bit of parishing meat in your ice box.
(Same goes for small Jerky. Monster Jerky still damages health and sanity, but less sanity.)
Jerky is great for if you have a lot of spare meat or are preparing for a long journey.
So yeah. Jerky is much better than cooked meat, and doesn't spoil half as quickly. However, sometimes you'll end up cooking meat if you end up with some spoiled meat that you need to save and your drying racks are full, so don't see jerky as the only option. Also remember that the meat should be used in crockpot recipes rather than eaten on its own, and so it doesn't really matter which form it's in as it makes no difference when cooking in a crockpot (however, jerky is preferred as it keeps for longer).
