#9 is #1 for me. Everything else is what I do in-between. For me, RoG Summer is the most dull... all the other seasons (vanilla or RoG) have continual gameplay since I'm preparing for the current season as well as the next.
Sounds like OP hasn't crafted winter gear that allows him/her to do the thing on your (our) list.
however, i only hunt the koalafant twice. once before winter and once during. after that, i chase one down to my base and trap him in stone walls as a pet that i never interact with...
in my past few games, i have gotten my winter hat AND a breezy vest before day 10. the more you play, the better you'll get and you will find that getting things earlier while maintaining your hunger, health, and sanity is easier than originally thought.
Spend a day or two in a tree-less area, you'll see koalephant tracks. Trees tend to hide them a bit.
I often find 3-4 koalephants before winter, and cook their trunks for dinner. I only make the Winter Koalephant vest.
