Tent :/
Hi there :mchand:

I've just played the game for a few hours, like 9 by now, anyway i've risked my life fighting all those ugly spiders to get the web, getting all the resources for the science machine, then later the alchemy engine, eating rabbits, frog's legs and carrots, all to get a "home" and when finally got the tent, after six nights it disappear :|, are you serious????, i mean my t-shirt brand "ducky" lasts so much more than the tent :|, please devs make it more durable, at least one or two seasons.

I've played games like minecraft, terraria and so, and all those games lets you make a home with logs, dirt and all kind of materials, please if the tent isn't gonna change at least put some hut, cabin or something that can resist more than six nights.
Ty :dswilson:.

i think the the tent is mostly used for a quick and easy way to gain your sanity back. not to use every dusk/night.
the game leans toward a.. primitive wilderness survival. tents don't last forever in the wilderness (though, this one goes on uses).

i don't think they will add huts or cabins, but i believe you can search the workshop.. maybe there's something like that in there.

Tent created using spider silk, grass hemp and sticks realy can't be very durable. :D

Minecraft tactics like building a house or walls don't work in this game. You need to find other way to survive. Best you can do is a base with some stuff in it.

Yea I'm not a fan of the limited use either. Spiders aren't fun. And the limited silk resource is a pain especially when you've been in the game a while and you've killed all spiders on the map etc... Yes there is an underground with more resources but even that can be plundered eventually. I'm not a fan of having spders nearby either. (re: planting spider eggs). an occasional queen does pop up and she migrates quite a far distance.. The game pushes you to move on to other maps.

P. S. OP i use my tent rarely for emergencies.. So it can last a while. As an alternative, there are foods you can use to increase your sanity. You don't really want to lose the time sleeping in a tent costs. Nightime is good for cooking and crafting.

A good food to make is taffy with at least 3 honey. So get on the ball with crafting a honeybee farm and of course a crockpot for cooking the taffy in.

Hi there, thanks for you time, i see you point and i can't be more agree with you, but come on, just six nights :/, i did saw in a discovery channel's program (where all were naked btw), that they made some kind of shelter that resisted more than 21 days (or something like that), but anyway, as you've said searching through the workshop i did find a nice shelter, the bad about it is that isn't rain proof.

Thanks for the advice, i'll try the honey , besides, the bad part about sleep is that you wake up with hunger, so i'll keep my sanity just with food :dsham:

Next time if you have a tent don't spam it only use it if you are going insane (it helps your insanity)

Op here is a list of recipes in game.
http://dont-starve-game.wikia.com/wiki/Guides/Crock_Pot_Dishes. I wish they built this in game. Would make things easier. This is the official wiki so that is a great resource for all players. Some don't like to read all becuase they like the discovery but I find the in-game rules/difficultly is more than enough for you to just go flying blind.

In any case there is also a mod you can get which will give you the predicted outcome of the stuff you drop in the crock pot. You can find them in the workshop. You might want to play around with mods later because once you get one mod its hard not to get a bunch of them which radically change the game.

One tip.. you can usually put one twig in the pot to save on food ingredients. Because you always need 4 of something. Eg. The taffy recipe calls for at least 3 honey. The 4 ingredient is up to you. Though you have to be careful what that is. You might just add 4 honey or decide to save it and add 3 honey + 1 twig = you still get your taffy.

Here is a "calculator" for experimenting with food ingredients.

Hi :D:, i'm the kind of person who doesn't like to read about a game till there's no other option left, as you've said the game is so hard that maybe isn't bad a little extra help, thanks for the list i'll take it into account the next time, about the mod i did find some interesting items in the workshop as you've said once you try one you can't imagine the game without it, for now i'm just gonna use the shelter and hut mod and i'll try you recipe, with three honey + twig.

Lol to the dude who wiped out the spiders.....

They are infinite just dont kill the nests until t3. If you walk on web it will spawn t1 spiders each time, the t2 only spawn if you attack the nest. T1 die so fast and if you finda few nests just kite them and farm up all that meat, silk and heals.

Nah, if You attack ANY SPIDER in range of T2 nest it will spawn Warriors. :P
You don't even need to touch the nest.
