Wood harvesting!
So who else does this?

The clockwork biomes spawn these bull things, if you plant loads of trees around him and them make him knock them all down you basically get 100 wood in seconds and then replant all the acorns and come back later!

It truly is a life saver playing as webber since he gets no pigs to chop for him.

I havent seen it posted anywhere so thought id share it.

since i mostly play woodie, i just chop them down myself. i've done that early game with willow, but switched to pigs once i built up a large village.

with woodie, i leave some living logs on the ground near the trees i plant so i can refuel my werebeaver meter. the most i've chopped down in one sitting is around 400 logs worth of trees. it took about 2 days to collect and store them all, but i was set on logs for a very long time.

i plant 3 stacks of 40 pine cones and chop them all down when they're grown.

I think my way is 20 times faster tbh lol, it takes like 2 days for the trees to grow to a decent size and then just unleash the bull!!

Thing is they leave no stumps either so you dont have to go digging up stumps so you have room to replant.

Im scared incase i kill the guy so i just kite him and if he doesnt charge me ill follow him until he attacks again :)

more than likely, because after the trees are chopped and the stumps are lifted; i still have to wait for the werebeaver form to wear off. BUT i do have the advantage of chopping trees closer to my base.
however, you can't argue with the results - one forced werebeaver transformation in enchange for 200+ days worth of logs.

True im lucky the bull is only north of my base :D but yeah i suppose on other maps there may not even be a bull!! or will be miles away so it will slow me down too much to be viable.

I just hate woody though, such a bad character, webber changes the way you play totally, even wilson has a beard, does woodies beard add insulation? If not it should!

no it doesn't add insulation lol.

however, thanks to his werebeaver form, he has no need for weapons against the giants. once i hear the growls i go to my "giant killing field" where i have some trees ready to be chopped down to force a transformation. after that, i'm ready to stomp the giants.
well, except for the dragonfly. i blow that thing up with gunpowder.

In wearform he kills giants fast?

Never even played him, dont like how he drops all his ♥♥♥♥ in wearform lol.
Jacob Sep 17, 2014 @ 5:40pm
yeah, he can kill them pretty fast. i kill them and then i have to wait for the transformation to wear off.

and yeah, it sucks that he drops everything, but it's understandable. it's not a big deal when you're paying attention to the moon cycles, which becomes second nature when you've been playing him for a long time. i used to forget and end up burning out lanterns lol. they automatically turn on when they drop from your inventory.

Woodie? Really? Ironically, Woody- being a lumber jack- is the least effiecient when cutting down wood. Why? WereBeaver! You can only chop a certain amount of trees before going into it, and unless you don't wanna have 50 health on the second day, you can only have 20 wood.

yes- woodie. that's the way woodie's name is spelled in the game. i wouldn't mispell it.

how exactly is woodie inefficient at chopping down trees?
you chop down 3-5 (depending on how big the tree is), change and gnaw the rest down and dig up the stumps as the werebeaver which is extremely fast. it's faster than pigs, because pigs don't dig up the stumps.
health is extremely easy to get back and when you're comfortable with the game, low health isn't going to keep you from doing anything.

logs hit a maximum stack of 20, but that doesn't mean you can't gather any more than that. they'll start a new stack.

If I stumble on a rook in a forest biome, I do let it knock the trees down, but it quickly spawns a Tree Guard who immediately kills it.

I just use Old Bell to chop wood for me. I have to dig up the stumps, but I can always leave them for later. One foot stomp gives several stacks of wood, which lasta very long time.

i do this all the time.

Ive been using mine for over 34 days now and still no tree gaurd? I think tree gaurds come from chopping not destruction.
