Best overall character? (with RoG)

Obviously the robot and strongman are great candidates, and I personally enjoy webber, but I would really appreciate input from the community on this one. Thanks!

Wilson is very balanced, everyone else has its strenght and weakness. For example: Wigfried Only eats meat and no vegetables which is not the easiest way to survive.

Wilson resurrection is always good. But you could get beard hair by reducing sanity to kill beardlings at the downside of getting monster meat instead of morsel. Which isn't a problem with webber.

I'd reccommend wendy, if you're near a catcoon and they kill something it's very easy to get her sister abigail and abigail has a lot of health which is great for fighting spiders and can take on the highest tier all by herself

Abigail is very good when you can't get pigmen (or spiders) to help you yet making them overall less necessary helping out a lot in early game. It's better than webbers spider sack he gets at spawn too in the sense that she follows you for free. But the damage debuff can hurt if you can't keep companions around. So overall wendy is great for late/mid game.

Wendy is not very good. Abigail makes killing spiders and bees easy mode, but she will die easily to a few hounds or anything that's stronger than that, and then you are kind of screwed with your severe damage penalty. The damage penalty also applies to any items that deal damage.

Wigfrid is probably the best character right now, with her ability to gain sanity and health from killing anything, and her strong personal armor and weapon. Her lower stat caps are not nearly as much of a drawback when you consider you'll be gaining the important stats faster and easier than any other character.

Wilson is still the best all round, for obvious reasons.

But currently and things will change (naturally), Webber is the "best".

I love woodie, the time saved for cutting trees if really good and his secret is an easy to access combat boost for the early game.

Woodie cuts trees very fast but I know faster solution. Plant a lot of trees near pig's houses and hire them using monster meat to do your job. I always get 5-6 pigs so in few minutes I have around 5 stacks of wood.

They didn't nerf WX's stats so I think they won't do that with Webber.

Personally I like Maxwell and Robot. My next playthrough will be as Wolfgang. Sure Wilson has magnificent beard but nothing beats mustache.

I prefer Willow beacause one simple think. I don't know guys but my experience says that the biggest problem isn't food or helath but sanity is and with Willow you just stay nearby the fire and your sanity goes up. Wolfgang is also pretty good but you have to know how to control him so that's my opinion and well I didn't really played RoG so this commen is about the basic game.

Librarian is God mode. Obviously the game designers' favorite.
Big Sanity boost, can conjure bird flocks & TENTACLES.
Built-in science machine doesn't hurt either, esp in adventure mode.
Compared to her, the other characters seem like they have minor powers that are easily replaced.

Agree. Plus, Wigfrid is ready to go into battle immediately with a cool helmet and battle spear. Only eating meat isn't a big problem: with a crockpot she can eat meatballs, which can be made with a morsel and 3 berries or vegetables. Also, bacon and egg. I use jerky a lot for safety, in case I lose so much health I don't want to risk another battle. Wigfrid is really great against spiders and hound mounds, which will grind down the health and sanity of other players, but she regains it. Only when there are tons of hound mounds in a circle does she have a problem, not being able to destroy the mounds.

Edit: I built one base with crockpot near a dozen moleworms and not far from ponds. Moleworms for meatballs year-round, and froglegs for small jerky except winter. Being Wigfrid, can just kite or tank frogs without traps, but later can use traps.

Some other characters may be better when fully upgraded, but Wigfrid is the easiest to not die with early on in RoG IMO.

hi i like the robot fully upgraded with good armor and a weapon he can take on the bosses easy "if you now what you doing" he can eat stale food,and the rain ghmm a simple head dress and umbrella solve's it . strongman can do it aswel but needs a full belly and sanity drops way faster in turn it can get you insane
for me now its webber :)) jes he only has 100 sanity and pigs do attack him but you can easy make a pigfarm this way as they wil attack you on site,,so meat and pigskin is easy to get,,also spider gland, silk wil be in plenty,and in winter with full beard the freezing is easy under control with the basic winter gear,and you can eat monstermeat
you can farm the spiders with animal traps or if you have multy dens give some meats to some spiders and then attack other spiders,this wil cause a spiderwar and give lots of stuf and meat in a few min, just stay in the mids of battle and press spacebar :)
he is also good in the cave's do to spiders there but needs to take care of the bunnies first

wigfried is easy ,, jes only meat but this also means anny meat based crockpot foods
to start fast go too a savanna biome and set up a simple base and farm bunnie's,lots and lots of smal jerky ad some berries and meatballs
or set up in the desert biome with the houndmouths and farm hounds,,after a couple of days you shuold have plenty of theeth and can place thooth traps giving more meat and thooth,, drop some meat on the ground and the buzzerds wil come to try and eat it,attack and you got drumsticks,somthimes you even have a smal savanna biome in there with rabbit hole's,,,, food never become's a problem
