Don't Starve

Winter Without Beefalo
I'm day 26 into A Cold Reception as Wigfrid and starving is no issue. The problem is weather. It's gone insane lately. I survived my first winter using thermal stones and did well enough. Found some worn and warm-ish clothes for the next couple of winters. The problem is, I haven't found any beefalo. Five savanna biomes, one the size of three or four normal biomes put together, and no source of fur.

Winter is short and it's hard to hunt winter koalefant when you freeze within seconds of leaving camp. I finally managed to snag one... only to discover I need fur to make the puffy vest. Last winter was so harsh that I was freezing while next to the largest possible campfire. My thermal stones can't warm up in that.

I need tips on surviving winter without beefalo or I won't survive much longer. Thermal stones and firepits aren't enough!

There are different sources of clothing that do not need beefalo. Use those.

Get the chapter done ASAP than. Better to finish it than endure it.

rabbit earmuffs can be done without beefalos. They help at least a little bit. can you makea breezie vest out of aregular koelefant without beefalo wool. Might be worth checking (before you hunt the koelefant down). Those two together with a thermal stone might be helpful even if their winter protecition is limited.

you can often find beefalo wool in tumbleweed so if you're willing to spend a day chasing them you might be able to get enough for a puffy vest
