Don't Starve

Rock lobster reproduction?
I read a post on the reproductive rate of rock lobsters yesterday, and I'm a bit worried about my world, as I did leave numerous baby lobsters at the cave entrance, bringing my three full grown ones to my base camp, into a pre-built wall containment area where they've become quite useful in frog rains. I was just wondering if there is any merrit to that post, and wether I should be worried for my current world(I have a rather nice base set up)

You should be worried. Soon your map will be overcome with Rock Lobsters. Your only hope is to wall then off.

Or call Ordo Xenos. They will do their job and if things goes wrong they will blow them (and you, and everything, but who cares) with Cyclonic Torpedoes.

Yeah, i'm on 200+ days, and lobsters slowly destroying all my spider farms and beefalo herds, they even harras my bees at spring. Foul creatures. Would try to kill them using giants, but one herd settled right near my base (one of them just stuck trying to go through water border, and others just wandering around him).

Destroy your base, grab all you can, and telepotatoe your butt out of there because you have no hope of living though any other means. :dsfight::dsmagic::dsfight:

Klei are aware of this. After asking Wade (developer) he told us this was something the team will be fixing but they have a lot on their hands atm.

I don't get your continuous negative outbursts towards Klei, you know they are a small team, you know they had been working effortlessly on their first DLC and you know right now they are breaking a leg to make multiplayer possible for the thousands that have been asking.

Granted the rocklobster issue has been going on for a long time but it's pretty clear Klei have been focusing on more important updates since they released caves as one of their free updates. Oh incase you didn't realise, multiplayer will be free for you and everyone else who has Don't Starve already, just another example of how far Klei will go to keep their player base happy, even though it's clear some of us are ungrateful.

@Bonder, calm your tits, they are in fact listening to the community. They have a multiplayer alpha announced for this winter. Take your vendetta to some other dev page.

TBH he has a point, that screenshot is LOL, they could easy fix this and work on the multiplayer, its no good getting multiplayer working and then this still happening is it?

They are a decent company though, is this a DLC bug as ive never had it before? Ive just got the steam version i use to have the GOG version.

you're the one who's ungrateful

ungrateful of people's time and commitment to this game

true ingrate.

Sorry I don't follow. Why would I be ungrateful of your time and commitment to this game? Why does that affect or even concern me? I've had to explain this to you in previous threads, I'm a moderator, I'm not associated with Klei in any way.

I too want this fixed but I can understand if Klei haven't fixed this they have done so for a reason. But we have been told it's on their to do list so that's enough for me.

It's been an apparent bug from the base game. From what I've been told the small group of developers have a to do list of around 80 things, this being one of them. Obviously that means there are much more important things that needs sorting out than over excited rocklobsters. Klei are fully aware and from experience they have never disappointed. Let them get on with what they need to do and stop acting childish (not you shadow of the bat).

Any more silly outbursts will be dealt with.

BTW. You can find mod in workshop if it annoy you so much. There are already few of them (one put limit of number of lobsters on any surface).

i don't see what the big deal is.. on my most recent world, i had brought some rocklobsters to the surface on accident during my first season. now it's day 365 and they're around a lot of the map. they don't harass the beefalo, pigs, or my bees (i have a big space for my bees), and they're great for killing the spiders around the nests i have growing, so that i don't have to do it. not to mention that with them around; i don't even go to my tooth trap field for hounds any more :P
