dodge there spins, when one stops as they're 'dizzy' get in some hits back off and rinse and repeat

that was my plan..... but they started their spins so close to me that by the time they stopped they were too far away for me to catch...... do they have a "slow" effect..... I really couldn't move well.... even when I equipped the Walking Stick....

So I tried leading them to beefalo in heat...... no help......

Then I just tried running........ but they were all faster than me.....

Hmmmm.....

Next time I'll have to find the egg and wall it in first I guess.....

blah!

Learning experience I suppose...
the kids go crazy once the parent is dead. thats why i suggest that you keep the goose alive and deal with the mosslings first. the situation is easy to handle during the night when the mosslings are sleeping.thats the moment when you can strike and kill the kids first, they're passive to the player as long as the goose is still there. freeze the goose or shot it with sleepdarts to get it off you and then kill it after the kids are finally dead.

or just use a tooth trap pit
if you have enough toothtraps to waste durability on...sure go ahead. on your 1st spring seasons you can consider yourself lucky though, if you have a few tooths for your dappervest or sewing kits and thats why i consider the other strategy more efficient. even if you have a pit of maybe 20 traps that wouldn't even kill all the mosslings because a mossling is 350 hp and a toothtrap does 60 damage, that means that you need atleast 30 traps and you need to bait all mosslings onto every single toothtrap to kill all. i doubt that its easy to make them trigger traps considering how fast mosslings move and how much delay a trap sometimes can have and just dont think about reseting traps between spins, it might be possible but also very dangerous. the constant lightning strikes will make your life a living hell aswell, sure clothing that denies strikes onto the player helps but do you have such clothing pieces yet? you can easily craft a hambat or spear and beat the living crap out of the mosslings during night and without any risks, if you have the minershat light isn't a issue either. just get something to get the goose off you -> gg.

In the future if you can pre-plan it, a single bee box will take care of them all. They don't aggro the bees. This means you have to build a bee-box before spring and just don't place it. Once the giant egg is laid just plop the bee-box next to it,

not all in one go, but it's easy to get it done. i've done it with 9 traps. just takes kiting and resetting the traps. i did that quite some time ago (well before my 100 hour mark). on top of that; the first time i had done that, i had forgotten to equip the armor i had in my inventory.

the video you showed does look like a very safe way to do it, though.
