How do I use the fishing rod? Or am I being stupid?

You have to use it in a pond or a shoal (spots with a lot of fishs swimming around) in the ocean (usually near corals).

have the Rod equiped then hover mouse over the pond or shoal it will say fish or cast...can't remember which but anyway hit the left mouse button and keep the mouse hovered over pond/shoal till it says hook then left click. and then after that like 1 second later it should say reel in then left click again and you should get a fish :)
