Best Character for Shipwrecked?
Hello to everyone, wanted to start this discussion to know your opinion about which could be the best character for the new dlc and why.

For me the best ones could be maxwell because in the dlc the rain is very intensive and maxwell has really nice sannity recover and also i like the librarian because you dont need the science machine and i find very difficult to get gold (i know dubloons...) and has decent stats, also noticed that when you start the game as maxwell there isnt the boat fragment with the parrot and if you destroy it with a hammer you can get an easy reparation kit so its an important thing to consider.

So....want to read your opinion and why you like x character for shipwrecked :D

i got the farthest with wickerbottom, because i could make a backpack faster. an issue i really had was not enough space
Webber and Wickerbottom imo. The way SW is paced, those two characters allow for more freedom of choice and exploration, which can be crucial.

This.

Ive been playing as wickerbottom. The available recipes and high sanity have come in super handy.

Also, ive only had trouble with gold in one game. in all the others ive either found plenty in the jungle, or in this rocky type biome? You dig up magma piles, and its everywhere.

Oh. And i've been meaning to try as Wendy. I figured her unique skill could combat the sanity issues, and its not like meats an issue XD

A Shovel :) Just keep digging. They take quite a few digs, but the yellow speckled ones have gold, sometimes up to 5 in one pile i believe.

I agree with Wickerbottom, for the reasons already stated by other users. Tested and approved.

I haven't tested Webber yet, but it will probably be my next try.

Normal, meaning they don't attack you by default. They can be annoying since they steal dropped monster meat. And the monster meat supply is what makes Webber quite strong in SW.

If you settle on a spider & snake island, or place your eggs in a snake forest, every evening you can collect plenty of monster meat during the daily spider vs snake wars. Your food needs are pretty much covered by that alone, depending on how big the forest is.

I realy like playing as WX, you know, upgrades. But I found it very difficult to find gears. And rain. Rain is very common here. If you can't choose i recomend Wilson, a standard character.

I started a new game with wendy, whereas i had been playing wickerbottom this whole time. Yeah she has her knowledge advantages, but wendy definitely makes it all easier. Quick sanity regain, and theres certainly no lack of meat. That and starter weapons/armor. Big help.

Vera, are you sure you don't mean Wigfrid? Wigfrid is the one who needs meat and starts with equipment. Wendy just has Abigail - her dead twin sister.

I find playing with Wendy to be almost "easy mode". Abigail is immune to poison, so I troll the snake bushes for fun. I have extra poison glands and enough snake skin to outfit a whole band. She also trashes monkeys since she is immune to their sanity drain. "You are throwing poop at a ghost. You really expect that to work?" Boat repair kits require bee stingers? Abby is on it! We all know about Abby and spiders, of course.
That's not to say I haven't had my challenges. They have all been because I don't know the new expansion and had no clue what I was going to need. I survived storm season without the chimmney fire because I didn't know I needed coral until too late. Hint: If you put a lightning rod near your shelter the lightning will charge it up and the glow is immune to wind. I also built my camp too near a snake bush. I had no idea those bushes would automatically regrow every evening and spawn snakes all night long. Good thing Abby is a snake destroying maniac at night.
