About the Pan Flute.
I was lucky enough to find the pan flute on day 1, but im not quite sure what it does. Im saving it for if a boss attacks, but can someone further explain its mechanics? Say, Moose/Goose attacks, if I play the pan flute will it just go to sleep? Forever, unless I attack it? Or does it only put things to sleep for ___ seconds, and if I go to close to them, will I wake them up?
Thanks, the wiki, from what I can tell doesnt seem to mention anything about this :p

Well yeah it puts everything asleep but as far as i remember if you stay close to hostiles for too long they are likely to wake up. I think bosses have an estimated amount of time and they won't sleep as long as simple creatures will. (though i could've wake them up with the fire from burning gunpowder :P)

The pan flute is best used if you're absolutely surrounded by hounds past day 100 without a tooth trap pit, or as a method of killing giants when used with an old bell.
Honestly, the pan flute is a bit overrated when it comes to its usefulness in combat though. I end up using it to herd beefalo sometimes, but otherwise they just sit in my chests gathering dust.

Well, I was hoping I could use it as a "trap card" against deerclops, moose/goose and bearger. I guess not, then?

The best way to use the pan flute is against the bosses. Put them to sleep then use 10 gunpowder and blow them up. Its very usefull and should be used sparingly. Another idea is to kite the Deerclops to the beefalo and let them tear him up. This will kill the clops and usually leave a deerclops eyeball which you can craft into the eyebrilla. This wont work for the Bearger as he is way to strong. He just ends up killing all the beefalo and eating the food. It's best to blow him up.

Well, you can send the giant to sleep if they're getting too hard to kill and you need to escape. But alone, the pan flute is useless against giants. You're better off just kiting them with a tentacle spike/ham bat and log suit/football helmet.
Hell, even a football helmet and a spear will suffice.

Basically , use it either in hard times in order to escape or to success in your crazy plan of killing giants( like putting gunpowder next , or enlisting pigs or beefalo) . Basically as a retreat or tactical approach

The only bosses ive actually killed in this game are Deerclops, Treeguards and a Spider Queen.

These guys look like piss compaired to some of the ROG/SW bosses and im way too scared to fight them, lol.

The spider queen is actually one of the harder bosses to kill because of the minion spawning mechanic.
You'll be surprised how easy it is to kill giants. Just look up their attack pattern.
Except the dragonfly. Don't even try to kill the dragonfly unless you have an old bell or you're Wolfgang.

I dont know anything about the dragonfly, but judging from the fact that he has 27500 Health on DST, in comparison to 4000, for Deerclops

Im just gonna assume hes pretty strong
XD

In single player the dragonfly has 2750 health and the deerclops 2000.
The issue is that the dragonfly does so much damage. He has the highest DPS in the game (by a long shot) factoring in the fact that he deals burn damage over time. Only Wolfgang with a morning star fighting a wet enemy in mighty mode can out DPS the dragonfly, and those conditions are hard to meet.
