Hurricane Season ARGH!!
I finally got to hurricane season in the shipwrecked dlc but now i have no idea how to survive it! I planted trees to keep the wind down in my base but they just blow down, and even though i put up a lightning rod I always play as Willow so I can survive if I forget night is approaching and she starts fires in the base because of the rain anyway!! How are you supposed to keep your sanity up when you can't keep your wetness down or you fire running? And how long does hurricane season last? Does anyone have any helpful tips for me? Thank you!

make a palm leaf hut under surrvival, it's a life saver! You need it to stay dry from the rain (and also cool when summer hits). Also, make a chimnea, a new type of fire pit in shipwrecked. It keeps the wind and rain from putting it out. For walking around in the rain, try making some snakeskin hats/ jackets. You can get the snakeskin from killing the snakes in the jungle biome. hope this helps :)

Thank you so much!! I didn't know about any of those things, I thought it was like RoG and you couldn't make yourself a shelter. I knew about the snakeskin but I didn't have time to make a jacket before the storm started. I will definitely start a new game and try these things!

In my base, I have the chimnea, Alchemy Engine & palm leaf hut as close as possible, so I can can get dry and look over the crafting menus during down time. Once you get some rain shielding clothing (I like the snakeskin hat) and the palm leaf hut, hurricane season is very manageable.

Then you get into monsoon season. That is a whole different ball of wax. Make sure you have a shell suit before monsoon season starts.
