Map without Chester (Bone Eye)

So im sitting at the 124th day w/ the Reign of Giants update, i have 100% of the base map (without the caves) explored and i haven't found chester/boneye yet.
Is there an actual chance to have a map that doesn't contain it? Or do i have to check everything till the last tiny spot?

One way to check if the bone is on the map is to install wheres my beefalo mod.If it's there it will show on the map if you have revealed it.

Did you happen to go running around exploring your map at night with a torch? It can be easy to miss Chester's eye bone while doing that. You won't see him on the map until you pick up the eyebone.

I have a lot of luck finding him in clusters of frog ponds, or in giant empty grass patches with a couple random bee hives. Try checking the area right in the center of your map, where the frog ponds and wormhole are (also right next the the previously-described grassy patch).

lol, well that heppens, as others said, for the next time, you could use the mode "where is chester" all it does is adding an icon for the eye bone on the map, I allways use it cause I suck at searching stuff, already missed him countless times lol.

I tend to find him at the end of cobblestones near the lake region.
