what is the use of the chill amulet

seriously the only thing i discovered is that it kills me

it's to keep you cool for a while during summer, but it runs out fast.. i find it to be kind of useless.

Like @Jacob mentioned, it can be useful in Reign of Giants to help keep you cool in summer. Whether RoG or vanilla, the amulet also helps regen a little bit of sanity while worn. In a sanity emergency non-summer, it can be useful to wear it while standing next to a fire, so you don't take the temperature loss.

Also, one small perk, it functions similarly to the ice staff... if something attacks you while you're wearing the amulet, it can be slowed/frozen.

oooooh didnt know that but after wearing it once my character freezes during summer
