Pig Thief Rant
I had a good base, on day 40 which is the longest ive gotten so far. I saw a thief trying to sneak behind me, i hit it, and goes straight for a guard. I thought perfect! We can ping pong it to death. But it caught fire from the pig guards torch and started running around inside my little shanty base burning everything. SOOO STUPID. Never fight these things at night in your city.

Happened to me too, bats wave come, i hid under a bush hat, pig guard attack them with their torch, flaming bats start spinning around the village, my small base that contain science machine and crockpot and a chest get burned -.-

Never ask pig guards that are next to your base.

honestly, while I have the mod to disable the pig arsons guards burning everything, I can see why they do in the first place. Swinesbury has infinite light and protection. There has to be SOME disadvantage to staying there and never leaving.

Well i walled off my swinebury base with stone walls and no problem with arson so far :P

only carry money when you need it
OR use ro bin as a moving piggy bank
the second one requires more time but works

Just put the oincs in your backpack.

How to (attempt to) prevent pig guards from burning down your base:

Option 1: Use the executive hammer to destroy guard towers close to your base. If you have the Key to the City, you can even re-craft them somewhere more useful.

Option 2: Create your own slanty shanty as soon as possible and simply choose the best spot for it.

Option 3: Place stone walls around your base, with fence gates. (Keep in mind that things that are already on fire can hop over walls and set your base on fire anyways if something is too close to the wall)

Option 4: Simply never have oincs on your person. Leave them in your house or in Ro Bin. That way, Thiefs will never spawn and be lit on fire. As for bats, you can either wait in your house until day arrives to fight them (so the guards use Halberds instead of torches) or you can move away from your base and fight them there.

Option 5: Ice Flingomatics still exist in Hamlet, albiet stupidly expensive due to gears being rare. If you have excess gears, having some insurance wouldn't hurt.
