shipwrecked and hamlet are bassicly new game's but with simmilair mechanics
id say buy them all they are worth it
Yes, you can also use every DLCs' features by linking worlds.
They are all harder though, RoG adding big difficulty to vanilla, Shipwrecked increasing it, and Hamlet being the hardest yet. So if you think things like more harsh seasons would ruin it for you, then maybe think again.
The biggest difference I can tell between people who do like the DLCs and those that dont would be specific complaints about BS mechanics i.e. difficulty.
after linking you can make a skyworthy or a seaworthy to travel between the world (also worth noting that a skyworthy will let you travel to shipwreck too but it will place you in a random spot while using the seaworthy will put you right next to the seaworthy in shipwrecked)
Maybe just the base game. Focusing on surviving winter is a good first goal.
But no matter what I selcet only one mod has green check to it at a time... would you mind lead me correct way for activate more at once.
Thank you
EDIT: Or maybe I figured it out?
DS = only base game
ROfG = base game + ROfG
SW = base game + ROfG + Shipwreck?
HAM = base game + ROfG + Hamlet?
¨
Kinda confusing..
RoG = Base game + RoG
SW = Base game + RoG + SW
HAM = Base game + RoG + SW + HAM
So picking Hamlet will include all DLCs.
Just last question to topic . Why it ask if it should be Hamlet OR SW compatible than? To my (wrong?) understanding it suggested they are mutualy exclusive..?
On world creation you should choose dlc to begin game. Every dlc has it's own world. You can travel from one dlc to another if you make them compatible.
DS -> RoG -> SW -> Hamlet
This is how compatibility goes. Every dlc is compatible with all previous one. So whatever you choose, game automatically becomes compatible with everything on the left.
For example if you choose SW, game will be compatible with DS+RoG, (so you can travel to RoG and play with RoG characters) but it also will ask you if you want compatibility with Hamlet (in order to be able to play with Hamlet characters and travel to Hamlet world).
