Problem with merms.

I haven't played this game in a while and I just got it on console too.

The merms simply will not stop chasing me.

I've run all the way across the map trying to get away from them it's only day three and I'm not geared up for combat.

I tried tricking the merms into hitting a beefalo but for some reason it won't work the hits won't register on them.

There's seemingly no way to get away as they move faster than me.

What can I do.

The hits not Registering on them are usually because it counts as a miss unless they were targeted by that thing or the beef was just out of range they don't really have a good attack rank. They usually won't lose track of you because their follow you for a lot they are not faster than you you either have to wait for daytime when they fall asleep or use our road get away from them

If all fails, fight to the death!

But in all seriousness, you could seach for a wormhole while you are being chased. Maybe allowing a tentacle to intervene would help?

there is only 1 type of merm that wil follow you forever,, and thats the merms in the world without a merm house,(homeless), usely they are fighting pigs in the beginning,, if they survive and you get close you are the next target

some things you can do, use a wormhole,, lure them to pigs, or fight them to the death, you can also try to use the houndmouths in the deserd, as those hounds attack annything that gets close,, INCLUDING YOU !!!!! so be carefull

for fighting a simple logsuit and a speer is enough
