Never ever just stand around.
There is always something you could be doing to prepare for an unforseen disaster.
Whether you know it or not somewhere on the map something is coming for you.
Be it dog hounds, growing spider nests, Or even one of the giants.
For your first 3 days your prioritys should be centered around getting a good lay of the land so you at least know where everything is. Willow is the best character for this task because her torch allows her to stay on the move a lot longer than the other characters.
Willow also pays a huge consequence for her infinite torch imo, and that is the stupid random fires she starts when her sanity is low. Unless you are completely set up to circumvent random fires with a bunch of ice flingers and such, your base practically becomes inaccessable due to random chance of being set on fire and that's why I stopped using her.
Just curious, does the ligther set enemies on fire? Torches do.
