Top Hat. It requires 6 silk to make and it restores 3.3 sanity per minute (garland restores 1 sanity/min). You get silk by killing spiders.

You can also eat certain foods to restore sainity. Jerky, I think, will give a little sainity and health.

cooked green mushrooms (harvested at dusk) can be used for an easy 15 sanity early on

the best way to restore sanity is by sleeping with a straw roll or tent, but that costs hunger

If you are desperate you can start picking flower for instant 5 sanity.

If you are out exploring during the day, a quick way to get boards and cut stone is ti knock down a pig's house but don't do it after dusk when they are inside.

A neat thing next to rifne your own stone and boards! if you go around and hammer down unwanted pig houses you will get some good amount too!
