Best/Most fun characters in Hamlet

Which characters work best in Hamlet? I've found Wickerbottom to be the best for my play style, even though in early game her books aren't that useful and so far tentacles aren't even a thing. All the early crafting is just really helpful. Warbucks is okay, especially since sanity isn't much of an issue with him.

In RoG my favorite was WX-78, but the lack of early gears makes him hard to play in Hamlet. I also like Wendy, but Abigail doesn't seem as powerful in Hamlet. She can't even take out 1 pig guard.

Fun char to play is wigfrid as she packs a punch really early and you can just dig and replant entire farms from pig guards and just kill them for meat. Replant at your base and stop worrying about basic supplies early on. Im also trying walani now for her added wetness resistance as hamlet is a wet wet world...

Spider might be good becuase it's so hard to get silk in this DLC. But pigs will attack him without mask.

I just tried again with Wendy - and Abigail is great for the bat attacks, the bug attacks and she gets the bandit easily - but I'm not sure how she'll work against any of the bosses. however, if I hire pig guards, it should probably be fine.

Warbucks - he starts with ball-peen hammer and magniyfing glass for easy gold and onics, also i think Warbucks doubles the durability of all treasure hunting items, once you gather 20 Wincs (white onics) you get double Maxwell sanity gain which is +40 per/min and you can control it.
out of the 2 new characters Warbucks is better than Wilba imo.

Warbucks feels almost mandatory since you need to juggle so many new hat types. So instead of a sanity boosting hat you can just carry oincs.

Wickerbottom. She will save you days of work, and has very good all-round characteristics. You can gather more items quicker, craft advanced technology (allowing you to build many advanced farms early on), and start exploring caves quickly. In the event that you need food, the Horticulture book is also easy to craft, and produces high quanties of food.

I've played many of the characters and so far I've actually had the most success with Warbucks becuase of Hay Fever and sanity. I know you can fight hay fever with nettles and tea tree seeds but that's a pain. I managed to make two gas masks and with Warbucks's sanity bonus I just kept my gas masks on most of the time and got through the season. Getting the feathers was tricky but you can just build a little wall and they will get hung up on it and you can harvest the feathers at will .
