Hamlet; set up Base in Swinesbury Or Palace City?

On one hand, Swinesbury is alot easier to get to (pretty sure you always spawn really close)

On the other hand, I've heard the Palace City is alot bigger, and has more stuff than Swinesbury (I don't know, I've never been. someone should tell me how to get there!), but its quite harder to get too.

What one would you Recommend?

Idk but how do you go to palace city ? I heard that i must go to ruins but which ruins ? ( sorry i don't have answer for u )

Farm Oinks, Buy Backpack and Miners Hat from General Store. Scavenge enoguh supplies to make the artifact hammer and then find random ruins. Wander through the ruins till you cant no more or you find an escape. The ruins will either come to a dead end or lead you to somewhere else. Ruins are located in jungles, and randomly in biomes

I personally decided to have a main base in Swinesbury, due to more resources and more convenient world gen on that island.
Not sure what you mean by "more stuff", but both islands have different type of shops and the size or the amount of set pieces to shear is world gen dependant.

The ruins leading to Palace city will always be located in deep rainforest and the entrance will be covered with vines. There are 3 ruins in deep/gas rainforest and to distinguish them, look at the totem at the top of ruins. It will tell you where they lead to. Regular ruins scattered all around (without vines blocking the entrance) won't lead to Palace city.

Palace City has stores that is not available in the Swinesbury, so not more just diff things..
But since you can buy house in swinesburry you should set up there first then make outdoor base in Palace City..

At least until you get make your own city, that would be your proper forever base I would say..

the ruins that lead to palace city have a pig statue on top of the entrance to the underground ruins (as far as i know), the underground section is randomly generated, and pretty large with a bunch of dead ends and doors covered in vines you have to cut or whack
