I don't even ask to nerf the bird. It's okay if there's something insanely unfair in the game. Just put some resurrection pads here and there.
Ye I like Hamlet but please,at day 12? I mean that surly can be interesting for later on,once you know where to get what, basically once you got into the game.
But I was just exploring the map and lucky I didn't get killed in the process before the giant bird came u.u
I was thinking about it but at the same time I just wanted to try it out and enjoy the game how it should be.
I understand that but the OP said he had tried 4 games that way. I would've thought after a couple of times it might be a thought to remove the boss (and only the boss if one doesn't like changing the world gen options). I suppose if one doesn't change the world much someone might not think of it. I always fiddle with mine.

Or just try your best in gathering the resources required to make a meat effigy. Wilson = free beard hair. Shave his beard with a razor to get it. He gives you 9 beard hair (the max amount) after 16 days. That's enough to build 2 meat effigies.
So if you play wilson and you reach your estimated "30-40 days of gameplay" you'd already have enough beard hair to make about 3-6 meat effigies.
Or if you're insane (below 40%) all the rabbits will turn into "beardlings" which have a chance to drop beard hair when killed. So you can catch them using traps like normal rabbits.
But thanks for advice about disabling the boss on world creation. I didn't even know it's possible.
Seems more like a bug than intended to work like that.
