Don't Starve

BFB is beyond stupid
Four games in a row, I have been killed by bird stepping on me. No matter what armor I used and how much HP I had left, it was just an instant one shot. I had no chance to obtain any kind of revival item at that point of the game, so it's four times when my 30-40 days worth of gameplay were wasted. Not going to touch DS untill this is fixed.

You can just move out of the way, why would you want to get stepped on? A tin suit and a tin hat will let you survive the stomp if you really don't feel like moving.

Oh, I tried moving out. Sadly, I was engaged with bats when Roc decided to appear and land right on top of me. I tried to hide in my mansion to, even sleeping and standing still untill three days passed. When I came out, wearing full set of armor and helmet, I got instantly stepped on again, by the bird camping right outside my hosue.
I don't even ask to nerf the bird. It's okay if there's something insanely unfair in the game. Just put some resurrection pads here and there.

That sounds pretty rough, maybe touch stones will get added at some point. I think they currently want players to earn their revives so that the fountain of youth feels valuable.

Then moving Roc to much later into the game, or making an item to summon it, would make more sense honestly v_v

Keep in mind your experience is far from the average occurence. I've spawned Roc about 7 or 8 times and the only time he stepped on me was when I was actively trying to get stomped.

I really do not want touchstones in Hamlet. its supposed to be hard, but have a touchstone and then boom an extra life just like that. There's already and the only way (well except for meat effigy) to revive yourself, but it has its price.

I had Roc at day 12 ofc he did one shot me.
Ye I like Hamlet but please,at day 12? I mean that surly can be interesting for later on,once you know where to get what, basically once you got into the game.
But I was just exploring the map and lucky I didn't get killed in the process before the giant bird came u.u

getting stomped by the roc can definitely be startling at first, especially when it lands, but its quite easy to not get stomped on, just be more careful next time and you should be fine.

How about just turn it off in world creation then continue to enjoy the game exactly the same minus that 1 change instead of avoiding the game when you can do something to remove what is bothering you. There has been an update that has fixed the fact that world creation edits were not saved days ago.

I was thinking about it but at the same time I just wanted to try it out and enjoy the game how it should be.

I understand that but the OP said he had tried 4 games that way. I would've thought after a couple of times it might be a thought to remove the boss (and only the boss if one doesn't like changing the world gen options). I suppose if one doesn't change the world much someone might not think of it. I always fiddle with mine.
Use mods or the command console to use cheats to give yourself a life giving amulet or the resources to build a meat effigy.

Or just try your best in gathering the resources required to make a meat effigy. Wilson = free beard hair. Shave his beard with a razor to get it. He gives you 9 beard hair (the max amount) after 16 days. That's enough to build 2 meat effigies.

So if you play wilson and you reach your estimated "30-40 days of gameplay" you'd already have enough beard hair to make about 3-6 meat effigies.

Or if you're insane (below 40%) all the rabbits will turn into "beardlings" which have a chance to drop beard hair when killed. So you can catch them using traps like normal rabbits.

It's not a beard hair that prevents me from building a meat effigy. I play as Wigfrid and I generally just slaughter all the wildlife, including Spider Monkeys. I have no idea where to get 4 azure feathers for Hokus Porkus.
But thanks for advice about disabling the boss on world creation. I didn't even know it's possible.

For azure feathers either trap birds for feathers or smash pots in the ruins.

I have survived the bird several times, but I've also died now twice from the insta stomp, while actively running away from it in full speed and not engaged with anything else than just trying to avoid it. I see the flying shadow go over me, and *smash* next moment I'm dead. And the frigging thing keeps appearing every season too in some games. Quite frustrating.

Seems more like a bug than intended to work like that.
