Here are some mods I know about that do just what you are looking for. Use at your own discretion.

You've already been answered but honestly I would advice against this. The game is designed this way for a reason. Yes, dying and losing all the effort and work you've put into a world sucks big time and learning through trial and error could be tiring, but the game HAS the means to "prevent" death or at least to give yourself a second chance.

I think it would be more enjoyable once you learn to take advantage of those death-preventing mechanics, like Touch Stones and the Meat Effigy.

But anyway, we're all entitled to play the game however we want, what's important is to have fun! :dswilsonscared::dshound:

I agree with the sentiment for the most part. The game is meant to be played through trial and error. All the way until the player gains an in depth comprehension of the Mechanics, and overall Gameplay.

That being said, from a personal experience, I want a back up for my world that I spent countless hours on. I say this because once before I lost everything due to a FREAKING GLITCH, and had no way to undo it... So I suggest to serious Players to make a periodic backup just in case.

We have to keep in mind everyone can have their own Play styles, and the Perma-Death is off putting to certain types of Players.
