Gold Nuggets in Hamlet?
Not sure if I'm missing something here, but it seems to me to be a great deal more difficult to find gold nuggets in Hamlet. I've only found one so far and that was by getting lucky by breaking a Smashing Pot in a temple. Are there any other ways of reliably finding gold nuggets in Hamlet?

Cave cleft, gotcha. Haven't come across one of those yet, but am sure I can alter the world to increase likelihood. Thank you.

caves arent exactly as common as boulders but yeah look for a cave or go into the town and earn 10 oincs and buy a gold nugget from the store then after that make a ballpen hammer and look for statue that you can chisel for gold nuggets

Gold is very easy to obtain if you make money in town.

1. Create clippers and trim all the hedges. Each trim results in 2 hedge clippings which can each be turned in for 1 oinc per piece (Unlike other trading items you can turn them all in with the same pig in the same day).

2. Pick up poop off the streets and if a pig is around it will reward you 1 oinc for cleaning up.

3. Flowers are worth 1 oinc

4. Berries are worth 4 oincs

Gold nuggets are bought with 10 oincs at the general store.

Also you can mine the stalagmites, or whatever, in cave clefts for gold.

There are other ways of getting oincs or gold but honestly you can get a decent amount in town on the first couple days.

Thank you for the advice. I'll start seeing about doing some business with the pig people as well.

also boards and rope are worth 2 points each, when I realised that I started a tree farm and was making boards just to get 2 oincs

I wouldn't suggest buying gold in the beggining save your oincs for you house. But do hit the clefts first to get you initial gold to craft your science machine, then craft your chisle and the statues with the gold shine will net you a gauranteed 2 golds, you can also hit the pig head for it's snout to get you 10 oincs a piece. There are also statues out there with lost idols on them that also net you 10 oincs when you turn them in (they are also laying around). My current play through I had my Alchemy machine, house, and 40 extra oincs by day 5.

If you want a super easy start you can just steal the deed to the house as well as any security contracts you want. Enter town hall before night and once night hits the mayor will fall asleep. At this point you will notice the options for the contract and deed become "steal". There are currently no repurcussions I am aware of to this. Enjoy the free 60 oincs and have yourself a ball.

Don't bother buying gold unless in an emergency. If you are Wickerbottom or Warbucks, you can craft a chiselling tool and have all the gold you like. Otherwise, get two iron, and buy one gold to make the tool, or just go into a cave and 1) hammer vases 2) mine rocks 3) mine columns (no more than five times unless you want a surprise, which may grant you more gold). The armoured iron creatures also poop gold, but under specific conditions.
