They sold us multiplayer in the "standalone" game called DST. So you need to buy Don't starve together.

Yeah DS has way more content.
Plus that's the exclusive content to DS so I don't know why that other dude above you thinks it's a fair comparison to include the exclusive content DST gets but not the exclusive content for DS. Sounds a bit dumb and counterintuitive.
Since Dont Starves DLCs act as entirely new 'worlds' (Hamlet, and Shipwrecked) which aren't compatible, but every DLC grants a whole new experience. But if it is the basic world without Shipwrecked or Hamlet and only Reign of Giants, then DST is the better
