World hopping doesn't reset day timer anymore?

I've been on a quest to recover some things from Shipwrecked DLC to bring it into Hamlet, but every time I drop in the middle of the aporkalypse and get completely screwed because I don't know how to deal with it yet.

I don't want tips or spoilers, I just want to know if there's no way to set the day count to 0 to avoid coming in at a bad time like this. I thought teleportatoing out to a new world to reset the threat, and then taking the skyworthy to avoid being overwhelmed immediately would work. Now I'm finding out this is not the case. My jaw is almost at the floor right now, I see "day 488" in the top right and there's just badness all around immediately.

Day count is synced between all DLC worlds, which means seasons will pass as well even when you are outside of a DLC or haven't even gone there. So if you wait too long to go to Hamlet, you get owned.

There is a way to do it though so that the world you are traveling to starts at day one, it's not very conventional though and requires merging with another existing save. Still technically legit though.

Oh, Ok. So...

I green error screen while running away from the badness and that crashes the game. Bug report wont submit itself. I then restart the game and I'm put back on day 1??! I even get Warly's chef's hat appearing on the floor next to me, the opening with the iguana plays this time, and the top says "day 1" and I see no bullcrap in sight.

This is some bugs man. I'll validate my files if I crash again, but wow.

It still says I've survived 488 days when I hit pause though, and the file had all 3 DLCs checked.

so you prototype skyworthy then use teleportato in SW after that jump to hamlet using skyworthy?

--I started in an all DLC-enabled RoG world to prototype everything I needed and gather materials.

--I then used Seaworthy to get to Shipwrecked and collect dubloons and more supplies unique to Shipwrecked like Obsidian item, dumbrella, and poison weapons.

--I then teleportatoed out to another Shipwrecked world to reset the threat level.

--I then immediately built the Skyworthy from materials I picked up previously to go to Hamlet at day 1 and not in the middle of Aporkalypse which killed me twice after I was fully equipped.

--Hamlet crashed a day or so while I was running for my life, gave me an error report which failed to submit, I restarted it and I was back at day 1 in Hamlet like I was supposed to be and I'm doing pretty well.

Also it turned out dubloons can't be exchanged for oincs. Big disappointment after all that. You can craft them into gold nuggets and exchange for 5 oincs each, but that's a garbage return imo and boring. Can't come to the Hamlet as a rich ex-pirate and cash in.

Ah isee you should make a habit jumping world at day 2 not at day1 (beginning of the season ) and not at the last day of the current season
Dont starve usually got bugged if you jump at that time maybe thats why you got crash
