Why can't you get gunpowder from gunpowder barrels?

There's a gunpowder item, and gunpowder barrels. But all you can do with the barrels is blow them up, you can't actually get any gunpowder from them. It seems like a wasted opportunity. Yes it might be kinda OP to just find 4-5 gunpowder from fishing up a barrel or trawling it in, but otherwise they add almost nothing to the game. Gunpowder is important In Shipwrecked for cannons or blowing up boulders. You can bait enemies into it, but it's not good for much besides whacking with a spear and almost blowing yourself up. If you weren't meant to get any gunpowder, I'd expect it to not be named that at least.

Speaking of wasted opportunities, I think snake oil is another waste. Yes, I get the joke, it's supposed to do literally nothing, but there's no way to make or relocate your own snake spawner. I think you should be able to use snake oil on a vine bush to make a snake bush.
