"Not Enough Disk Space Available" 0MB Available when I Have Over 100GB Free Space...
Hey everyone, I so went on vacation for the holidays and left my external hard drive at home. I have some steam games installed on it and some on my C: drive of my laptop. I noticed when I loaded up steam that it says I have 0 available disk space and am unable to download any games onto my computer (I want to download a 500MB game). This is confusing because I have over 100GB free on my C: drive where my steam library is at.

I tried restarting my computer, restarting steam, checking the disk for errors, optimizing the drive, using the steam settings to scan and repair steam library, creating a new steam library folder (It wouldn't let me because it insisted on managing multiple games in one drive through one folder) and running steam as administrator, but still the same problem.

I confirmed that this is only with steam, because I was able to download and install a game through origin and GOG.com. Any help would be appreciated! I noticed there are similar forums up about this but none of them have conclusive solutions, and none of the fixes helped me.

The only thing I can think of that I haven't tried is to plug in the external hard drive from home when I return and see if that works and allows me to install games onto it, but that's at least a week away, and there's no guarantee that it will solve the 0MB issue for when I want to install games onto my computer's C: drive. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm on an Alienware 17 laptop with Windows 10, Geforce GTX 770M, 16GB Ram, with a terrabyte hard drive and over 100GB of free space available. All drivers and such are up-to-date.

I think that steam only uses a certain amount of storage in-total which is what ive seen of my computer, I know this isnt a soloutoin to your issue but I thought this may help a little bit.

For everyone who happens to stumble upon this post in the future:
I had a similar issue with my setup . The second steam library was on a disk that died.

For me, the solution was going to
"Steam"
=> "Settings"
=> "Downloads"
=> "STEAM LIBRARY FOLDERS"
=> Right click desired library and selecting "Make default folder".
After this, I ran a right click => "Repair library folder", just in case.

When trying to reinstall the game after these operations, everything seemed to work as expected.

Had this problem after disconnecting external drive with second steam library folder. "Make Default Folder" worked for me.

Bumping again. (not to necro). Worked on this for a few hours. This was the only thing that worked (other than if I reinstalled steam)
